What are some good ones?
I'm mainly interested in gaining strength over muscle mass. Some mass would be nice, but strength and endurance is priority.
So yea, what are good forums? There's tonnes out there... I need a forum that can give me good tips on both workouts and nutrition. |

Ive been a profesional trainer for over 5 years with over 6 certs and a well based past referance clientale. Those sites will tell you . The information is old and was probably written by clip board trainers and or taken from a muscle magazine.
These variables are proven to work and are based on up to date science.
Power 1-10 Reps Power 3-6 Sets
Maximal Strength 1-5 Reps Maximal Strength 4-6 Sets
Hypertrophy 8-12 Reps Hypertrophy 3-4 Sets
Endurance 12-25 Reps Endurance 1-3 Sets
As for the nutrition part
It is imperitive to consume a large amount of calories coming from fat, carbs and protein. Becouse you are interested in gaining strength you will need atleast a 30% caloric intake from protein alone.
Hope this helps. |

So where are professional trainers getting their facts from? I'm asking this because I really want to see the studies/research for myself. |

NASM
ACSM
Most of my certs I have obtained are from these sites. I also work with a female trainer who has been a national leval body builder for over 27 years who also has preached that bodybuilding sites and muscle magazines only cover basics. Do you really think bodybuilding sites and magazines are going to get indepth in biomechanics, anatomy, kinetic chains, Neuromuscular efficiency nutrition and so on? Most magazines will talk about the same topic that they coverd a few issues back. |
