In regards to how Pure violated MY trust specifically . . . I DO work in clubs running promotions, and I HAVE been witness to countless examples of Curley's modus operandi. I along with hundreds of other people am owed money by those guys which I expect we'll never see. This is a guy who at my last count bankrupted his company and renamed it 5 times since the year 2000 to get out from under all the people he owed money to.
Yes, they brought great talent to our fair city and helped put
Chicago on the world music map for more than just house music, but the ends don't always justify the means.
As far as looking ahead past the next weekend, I invested YEARS into this only to end up being one more person the guy ripped off.
Just remember: Criminals rely upon society's understanding. |

I don't get what YOUR beef is with me? You called me out and basically dismissed everything i said in past present and future. That's why i quoted you.
a lot of you (though i wont mention any names) are the same sycophants who have been mooching off Pure for ages, whether it was comps, drink tickets and even gigs - only to turn your back on them as quickly as you were willing to suck up.
I'm not defending crime, but a year ago you would easily have called those people your friends and now you castigate them as scumbags for something that they did that doesn't even affect most of you but only benefitted you.

And Yuris I agree with you too. Curley may be a shady jackass, but unless you have been personally affected by him, STFU! It's not your drama to get into, and if you people would stop acting like a buncha middle aged gossiping suburban housewives you might be able to pull your head out of your ass long enough to understand what he did, how, and why.
Look I don't like the guy, but I commend him on his continual dedication to the music scene. |
