i speak english, and i'm learning french.. second yeat
What i dont understand is how someone can know all these languages fluently, i mean i guess i blame it on the school system for not teaching us earlier or my parents for not knowing any language but english to teach me.
I know a lot of people who can speak 2 languages well(large amount of immigrants in my town, pretty cool unless they say to me)

So did you learn most of them in school or from your parents? i know many Arabic kids in my town can speak it perfectly but cant write it at all, they learned how to speak it when they were young, for me reading, writing, and speaking all go together.

I would like to learn french, italian, spanish(only because of the way things are going in the US), and dutch.. possibley Thai because it would be a cool place to visit

I'm fluent in both English and Polish. I can speak and basic reading in German. I'd love to learn more languages tho :)
Electric_Hybrid
I can speek english. And that is all.

Dang I feel left out. I took french all throughout grade school and in grade nine but never ever got a passing grade. I think the highest I got in french class was a 23%.

I think I am incapable of learning new languages....I have enough trouble speaking english....hehehe:P

i HEAR YOU!!!!
sometimes i get so confused that i'd be speaking english and say some word in french and the other person would ask me what is that word and i would believe that whatever i said is english but in fact its not
or sometimes i'd forget what the word is in english and know what it is in french or russian but no one around would speak those languages
gets kinda frustrating sometimes. i dont know how ppl who know more than 3 or 4 languages deal with that
Hell_Copter
i can speak Hebrew and English
they made us learn in school Arabic but i didn't really care about it so i can't speak it... i do know how to read in Arabic and a few words
also i have a russian coach so sometimes i learn new words in russian :D

I've learned 5 years of Spanish and can read it still. Can barely speak it heh.

I've also learned some Japanese. But I stopped after taking a quarter of it here in the UCs ;)
