why is there a trend to put a small "i" at the begginning of brand name, like iRiver, iPod, iCool etc. what's it all about?? i could understand if it was only the Apple company doing it...:conf:

Its Marketing nigga ..... You give your product a name thats catchy and easy to remember.....hence when people go shopping they will remember those catchy words/names and actually go buy them.....


e.g:-

Everytime you think fast food all that comes to mind is the local pizza place,kfc,mcdonald's e.t.c......Not the place that serves 4 course meal.

Shaving stuff:- Gillette,Old Spice.....

Washing power:- Tide,Ariel.....

Car:- Hondas,toyotas,Chryslers...BMWs

you didn't seem to understand the question. i know it's a great marketing name and catchy etc. but why do several companies expoit it? i mean isn't there supposed to be any patent on the usage of "i" and a capital next..? maybe Apple ownes one, no? i would apply for a patent if i were to invent the iBrand thing
