| Greg you'll outgrow that urge to bitch authority (any) at some point... at the risk of staying a hippy your whole life. |

exactly. authority
i dont want to deal with authority when im partying-
does this make any sense? Like it's all well and good that these guys are going to do what they want to do, thats fine I dont care, its my choice wether or not to attend ( and knowing me ill probably end up going, call it like it is now )
u wanna throw a big off rave with superstar djs? awesome! i just think its silly it got to this point, maybe silly that TA (or people like the people here) pushed them to release a statement like this and then cheer about it.
Its like
USER:
"hey beb sucks, they should be more underground"
BEB:
No, We are commercial and thats it
USER:
AWESOME! RESPECT! |

While the letter may seem heartfelt at the surface, to me it sounds pretty bogus. Marketing strategy is all fine and dandy but it is not an excuse for bringing in ty DJs. And to be honest, they can book pretty much anyone and still have a full house (no pun intended).
Another thing to note is that 'house music' is a very broad term that encompases a large amount of different styles (and is likely the most broad term in the EDM genre). So this is fine and cool. But to then pinpoint a specific subgenre as a potential theme or whatever seems a bit contradictory. Why French house? Its deader-then-dead ATM. The fact that people still can only think of a name like Daft Punk pretty much proves it.
And since you pretty much have only Trance in one room (in terms of headliners at least) and will apparently have french house in the other....How does this exactly "cater to the masses"? |

Why do you guys work? to make money. BEB just said the truth (between the lines), which most wouldn't do. BEB is a business and that's that. You don't like a product? don't go.
You guys think TRIBE is out there trying to "Please" the underground fans with their big party on the 28th???? No. I doubt that's their goal. Not with that huge investment in DJ fees. Everyone's out to make a profit. It might be sad for some of you, but this beloved music we all love is an industry, where many good people try to earn a living. TRIBE is a business (and the best club in MTL, hands down :D )
the truth is, most of the 15000 fans that will be at BEB this year have never heard Sven Vath or Booka Shade or Satoshi Tomiie |

Greg, you deal with authority when you party like it or not, example your Cherry had to show a good record to the authorities to open its doors! There's far more regulations about parties than you'll ever imagine.
Authority is everywhere, you gotta deal with it. |

very well said.
I think BEB came very clear with this topic and I respect them for that. |

guess what. the underground does not pay the bills. i can tell you that from first hand experience. Especially in montreal where everyone thinks they should get in for free everywhere. that is why im booking victor calderone for my next party in boston.
balenblanc used to have DAVE CLARKE and MISSTRESS BARBARA and it used to be underground, but as montreal sinks further into the musical toilet, so does the beb. RESPECT the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
toot toot!!!
p.s. who really gives a ..........................or a ?
oh yeah, that reminds me of this one time..........someone smashed a 22 ounce heineken bottle over my head after beb cause they were so ed up and thought i was in charge of a secret army who would attack the days inn we were staying at.
a paul frank wool hat and my other friend saved my life that day especially since the kid was trying to finish me off. true story, closest i ever came to being murdered |

for sure, i just don't care really.
want to impress me? get on the forum and say it yourself, dont make a press release style mandate posted on forums under an anonymous balenblanc account.
otherwise i dont care, at this point its the same as me talking about mcdonalds. who gives a , you dont like it dont eat there.
you like it a little bit, eat there everyonce and a while, or go and dont have the time of your life-
its just a product :) |

Once anything involves money, there's a product.
Cherry has a product too when it tries to create a different style of night. You guys have promotion, flyers, charge at the door, etc. etc.
You may not like Bal en Blanc's product, its your choice, they may not be after you marketing wise. |
