Above & beyond last night at Vanguard!!

Totally rocked....... Much better set than the OC show......

What did you guys think?

I thought it was an amazing night. It was also pretty packed but Above & Beyond always brings them out, so I wasn't that surprised.

I really think they have some of the best progressions out there. They have these prolific build-ups and then just drop you.

I was pleasantly surprised when they pulled that remix of shivers from Armin out.. and they picked a great encore with Can't Sleep.

Overall I think it was the great night that I was waiting for since their 1:30 hour tease at EDC.

Tony & Paavo went completely insane last night! They were having so much fun up there too, which really fueled the energy!

Floor was already packed at 10:30, so I knew it was going to be a good night. Got my limited edition Above & Beyond t-shirt from the merchandise booth outside on the patio right away, but opted to keep it on me rather than check it at the coat room for $6 (jeez, coat check should be cheaper than the actual clothes!)

Ran into so many TA's and friends that it was time for A&B to come on before I even knew it, plus they came on a little after midnight for a nearly 4 hour set!!

Only bad part was that my eyes started stinging badly the last half hour. I gave Paavo a set of 3 matching TA wristbands and he looked really happy (though not sure he knew what they were until about now...lol) Didn't want to take any pictures with them since my eyes were completely bloodshot, but they were very cool about going down into the crowd, shaking hands, signing stuff after their set (despite the menacing security that was trying to sweep everyone out like so much dirt under a mop!)

So many wicked tracks that I can't even begin to name them all, but I know I heard "Can't Sleep," Luminary's "Amsterdam," and...ok, I give up. When I got up this morning, my eyes started stinging again (so bad that I couldn't do anything except run for the saline solution), so I think it's the Santa Ana winds, the Malibu fire, or maybe both.

Anway, best part of it all is that:

THE RESIDENCY HAS BEGUN!!!!!!!!!!

That was one of the best shows of been to in a long time. They rocked the place so hard! My favorite part was when the dropped David West - Welsh Morphology.

I'm definitely going to catch a couple more of their shows while they're residents of vanguard.

The residency is actually of Anjunabeats and affiliated labels, so hopefully we'll be seeing Super8 + DJ Tab, Menno de Jong (fingers crossed), Mike Koglin, Smith & Pledger, and of course Above & Beyond along with so many others soon!!!!! :D

Yeah they were. It's always great when the DJs are having as much fun as everyone else.

yeah a few promoters have started to notice and because of that the line up these last 10 months has been ing incredible for the most part

if you move to LA please take all the BBB/Kaskade fans with you too

thx,

Denver

What denver has been doing is bringing one trance headliner to a show that doesnt fit him. Like Acosta coming up. Nothing else really supports his style of music on that bill. Whereas in LA and SF, events cater by rooms, all of which are massive. They know how to group artists. Denver for halloween is just a mess as opposed to monstermassive.

I asked about bringing above and beyond to which the reply was - there is no demand for trance of that sort in denver and there is no point then in bringing them here.

SO yea, denver has the demand of the top 5 djs but not the rest for trance. I mean ferry corsten doesnt even pack it up here.
