Deep house on the rise? (pg. 2)

Timewriter is mostly progressive house. I don't really like his productions, some are good, some are average at most. Some of Terry Lee Brown Jr productions are prog house as well (some are deep house and pure tech house), but he has tech and deep house elements in them. He is really good producer. I like many Plastic City releases. But I prefer to that sound which Âme and Charles Webster did in 2003-2005 (for example), which was pretty much detroit influenced. And of course detroit deep house itself

I usually listen to Miguel Migs.
Deep sexy funky groovy house.

Deep house has been around for ages. I personally love it. It can be great to create a cozy ambiance in an intimate setting or to warm up with.

As far as it being a more popular genre i believe (and i mean this as its only an opinion and not necsesarilly fact.) That its resurgance can possibly be attributed to people's acceptance of things that aren't always "in your face" and high energy. Its been the trend ever since minimal made somewhat of a comback, so Deep House making a comeback is no surprise. Taking a pared down, intelligent approach to music is just a sign of the market becoming more sophisticated.

Please do not read into this as everything with tons of energy and layers as being . Its simply different and an aquired taste.

+1 to Miguel Migs, that man makes some very sexy music. I really enjoy Evil Concussion as well.

Yeah there's been a ton of good deep house production going on for a while now.

Tech house/prog house back?
Danny Ocean
its always been there for me. Miguel Migs, Blue Six, Hed Kandi - Beachhouse 04.02 is mint collection of singles. Sultan has some nice deep house sets as well as parts of Danny Howells sets like Final Set @ ARC, New York City (March27,2004) as few others.

"Deep" house has been getting a lot of attention the last year or so, and a lot of solid new stuff has come out because of it, but someone needs to tell Jimpster to stop.

It's really starting to all sound the same, and none of it is as good as what he was doing years back.
nefardec
as far as this goes I also prefer the detroit sounding stuff

Efdemin plays a lot of good deep house (among other things)

ame occasionally does as well

chesco
all the Moodymann back catalogue is worth checking..My mate loves his stuff and suggested giving his music a listen. Glad I did - awesome stuff.

you could say the same about funk d'void/francois dubois

i think after producing as many tracks as either jimpster or fdv, your productions are going to start sounding similar.
