Dr. DAS
...reminds me of Jonbenet Ramsey.

This girl is six years old...when this story broke I was saddened, not by her tragic death, but by the spectacle her parents had murde...um, made of her. The clothes, the make up, when was she supposed to be a little girl? How can anyone find this appropriate?

lol I'm in one of my philosophical moods right now.

so, I ask both of you above, what age is it appropriate to physically exploit women's beauty?

Well, I think from my own experience...I started dressing more revealing at the age of 16 - 17, but I am also from Europe, so it's a bit dif. However, there is a difference between dressing slightly revelaing to show off your assets in a classy way, and to look like a total skank who is an attention whore looking to get nailed...

So, the answer to your question is 16 - 18 I would say. :D

lol I guess that means you think it's okay for women's beauty to be exploited in the form of beauty pageants and magazine covers.

I'm confused when it comes to that stuff because I clearly love female beauty and seeing it in all its glory in media, but the cancer that comes with it is the aggressive behaviour from males in their pursuit of the hottest chicks as well as the participation of younger and younger girls.

I'm confused because I'm against the consequences but I want the source. Furthermore, I come from a background where the exploitation is completely censored and banned, so I understand the benefits (and actually should be following those customs more closely) but my nature tells me otherwise...lol I'll just call "it" "nature". lol.

LOL I guess I thought of your questions as in terms of exploiting female beauty as to normal every day life (and personal experience), but not in terms of beauty peagants and magazine covers.

I don't know if I can answer that because I think beauty peagants are kind of pointless, since most of the women that participate are really dumb and not that pretty...And what are the benefits, anyway? There is so much pressure and insecurity that come with those contests. I think women should be smarter than that and don't value themselves only in terms of good looks. Of course, it helps to be pretty, but come on....You can never be perfect. It's all about being comfortable in your own skin and being confident!

As to magazines, I actually don't mind reavealing magazine covers, not sure how to explain that one hehe

And what is your strict background?

I don't know what else to say here:P

Origin = Pakistan (flag)
Born/Citizen = Canada
Raised (13 yrs) = Saudi Arabia

Add an all-boys school to the mix and you can see where I'm coming from. LOL.

Good point re: distinguishing everyday life from media. The everyday life approach to this issue is way more subjective, I think, and it would be impossible to decide on an optimal age that a girl can decide what she wants to wear, if the outfit is skimpier than what the parents think.

It totally depends on the parent's values and the girl's sense of style. But yeah, I'm with you on the ~18 years old or thereabouts, although there's nothing you can do if the girl wants to wear what she wants, younger than that. I remember girls who would change into the clothes they want to wear at school AFTER leaving home in the clothes they want their parents to see them in.

I liked those girls. :p

Yep, and I recall you had a deep knowledge of Ramadan, so I thought you had exposure to that culture too, somehow. Confirm/Deny?

If there's grass on the field, play ball... right?

Seriously though, my kids won't be allowed to leave the house at all, period, until at least 25.
