it sucks that he is in canada.. if he was in US, that would automatically be atleast $100 million

in not too sure about canadian law, but can this guy sue the police for the incident?

Probably. It depends probably what the SIU finds in their investigation.

We already live in a very litigious society. Everyone wants to sue for everything, because they are the 'victim' and want to be compensated. A hair in your BicMac? 'Zomg, give me 1000000000 jillion. I suffered damnit, I am entitled to riches now!'

Your thoughts should not be on how he can rip off the municipality out of YOUR tax money, but on whether or not excessive force was applied.

If he was drunk and beating his wife, and not cooperating with the police, would you still sympathize with him?

i dunno man...

"The Taser's hook-like prongs embedded in the man's eye and then delivered a blast of electricity."

i cant stop laughing at that sentence. i find it quite amusing for some strange reason. :haha:

if he wasnt doing something wrong in the first place then this incident wouldnt have happend. if he wasnt doing something wrong the police would not have confronted him. if he had coooperated when the police confronted him then the taser would not have been used. he is already in two wrongs. was the cop aiming for the guy's eye? probably not since you really dont know where the hooks will land on the assailant.

right i know what ur saying. but for 's sake he is a cop. they go through training on how to apply force, shoot a weapon, etc... shooting someone in the eye? regardless if it was an accident(how the do u accidentally taser someone in teh eye??) or not, those guys are paid to protect and are trained to do so. so thats where a lawsuit comes in...

regarding lawsuits for absurd liek hair in food, etc. obviously thats stupid but money talks esp. in US

right, but a cop can hit the guy with his night stick or whatever u call it. the cop can even taser the guy and apply all tehmethods he has been taught. but shoot someone in the eye? imagine if it happened to you and u knew the cop could have dealt with it better? now ur stuck without one eye. r u really gonna think, "since i was being uncooperative, my eye is gone. its ok"?

no more like "reparations are due and mother******s will pay"

dude, we don't know exactly what happened.

the drunken guy could have been doing the macarena and ducked his head while the cop was aiming for the chest but hit him in the eye instead. could have been a freak accident shot

we don't know for sure if the cop was deliberatly aiming for the eye (and eye is frigging hard to hit unless you're like two feet away)
