For the record, absinthe has never been illegal in the United States, only illegal to sell because the FDA wouldn't approve it.
At no time in the history of the country would you ever face any legal action for possessing a bottle of absinthe. |
I never knew that. You should have seen Bunny's face when we went through customs coming back from Ibiza. We brought her cousin, and ourselves, a two bottles back (they just sell it in corner liquor stores, not hard to find AT ALL). Anyway, she was so panicked it was HILARIOUS! I told her, 'babe don't worry about the absinthe, it's the pills you should be freaked out about'.

How so? I'm fully aware that laws in the United States allow excessive consumption of alcohol but don't allow the purchase, possession, or use of marijuana unless prescribed by a medical professional.
My question was, what exactly did that have to do with the recent availability of wormwood-containing Absinthe in the United States? |

the one time we were stopped at US customs, we said they were for historical purposes -- a collection. so long as you don't plan to consume, gift, ship, or sell it to anyone, you're allowed to bring it across the border. |
