4 people killed, 16 injured. Where else can that really happen?

Somehow I don't think the shooter is really concerned about ing up other people's night........

I think the main issue is the risk to other people in the vicinity. Most of the people here are regular clubbers, or ex-clubbers, nobody likes the thought that they could just be on a night out enjoying themselves when they get hurt because they were just unlucky enough to be present, or that they could get shot at/stabbed/whatever because they accidently piss off the wrong person. It's easy to imagine yourself being in that kind of situation (and I'm sure several here have, to a lesser extent, perhaps not shootings, but stabbings/large fights/brawls), so it's easy to empathise. |

Depends on the place. Over here it has been pretty big for years (about 5,000-8,000 people attending the biggest events, on a 250,000 people island!) and I've only heard of a fist fight *once*. But then again the society here isn't very violent neither, so you probably have a point that the commercialism and the mass gatherings increase the probabilities of this sort of happening. |
