The first time I went back to Russia as a kid, I brought back so many of them 'cause I thought they were sooooo cool, but somehow the kids here didn't think so. I'm pretty sure that it was 'cause Pogs and Ringpops, Tamagotchies and Pokemon were all so much complex than little comics that come with gum, and the fact that Dubble Bubble was already around.

hehe yeah it def is/was dif back there in terms of "cool things"

in fact collecting bubble gum inserts in general was a big big thing in primary school/early middle school - Cindy, Love is..., cars, transformers, you name it

+1 I know exactly where my old deck is, lol. I also played a blue and white deck.

WOW!!!! I had 7 decks, different style for everyday (Man I am a geek). Prodigal Sorcerer invented the poke, facebook just stole it.

I loved that game so much. I HATED my parents for talking me out of playing it. In grade 7 I actually thought I could go on to play professionally as a career. I entered tournaments with GRAND PRIZES of 300 or 500 bucks lol. Nothing better than defeating a 30 yr old nerd who spent $1000 stacking his deck with rare cards but has no strategy.
