Stu Cox - White Trash [rip-roaring electro mix]
View this Thread in Original format

I was asked for a demo yesterday by a mate who was going to see a promoter in town, for whom I didn't really have anything appropriate so I had about an 2 hours to get a mix down and get a copy to him... So it was basically a matter of hitting record and seeing what happened.

This is what I came up with, it's about 128 bpm, 55 mins long... dunno if it's house, electro, techno or what but it's definitely a bit quirky and there are some really cool grooves in there.

What's on it:

01. Micky K feat Amos - Leep Electro Clap [remash]
02. Tony Thomas - Nucleus
03. Electro Stimulation - Modulation
04. Riri Mestica - Unspoken
05. C Jay - Pornology [Le Ron, Yves Eaux & Luke Star Remix]
06. Tony Thomas - Expression
07. Kid Blue - Crunch
08. Dumb Dan & Rasmus - Ljus [Patrik Bjorkman Remix Unreleased Edit]
09. Leon Klein - Big Fish
10. Paul Ursin & Benny Benew - Subwave
11. Chris Vaux - paRaid
12. iPunk - Smoking Jo
13. Mista - Mental Health Hotline
14. JS16 - Rosegarden
15. Uberzone - 4 Bit [2 Bit Downgrade Mix]
16. Pam Pero - Shaker
17. Noise Up - Lula The Beat
18. unknown - After8
19. DJ Tom - Rock On [Viron Ltd Remix]
20. Bootyheads - The Bomb

okay WOW !
I am all over this. Great set and excellent tracks. Highlight track for me is the Tony Thomas one, just so much big room energy and with the old school scracthing of that " party time " sample over the top is a big big big !!

There is no way that you just threw these tracks together in 2 hours ??. You had to have spent some time planning the transitions in this one as I just believe that you could achieve this set in 1 take with no prep ??

anyway it matters not. Heavy rotation here !!

Thanks mate :)

Yeah Tony Thomas is on form at the moment, his deeper stuff isn't quite my scene but every now and then he turns out a groovier track and they're always absolute corkers!

And it was actually only done in about 70 mins lol... well, I'd been planning to do a mix starting with that track for a while so I probably spent about 5 or 10 mins picking the next 2 tunes then hit record and made the rest up as I went along. Personally I thought it showed that it wasn't really planned, particularly at the end where I think I rushed things a bit (to make sure it was finished in time to get a copy to my mate!)

well that is incredible mate... Truly one of the best sets of the year. Have many mates also saying the same thing about the copies I have made for them :)>
