That's 3... all we need now are a couple of passive vegans that'll pass on this feast to watch the door whilst we get down to some serious life shortening feeding.

POUTINE REVIEW

Lakeview Restaurant

I just had the best GOURMET Poutine I ever had in Toronto.

Cameraphone, sorry it does not give it justice.

The new owners of the former Lakeview Lunch, now called the Lakewview Restaurant have got it right. They truly serve a poutine that is a real definition of the word poutine. Never have I ever had such a tasty mash-up.

Both spud and sweet potato fries carry the heart of this dish, which was completely new for me. Generous toppings of peameal bacon, sauteed mushrooms, feta and this nice galicy oniony crispy bits were able to cover every bite. My curds weren't squeeky which have kept me from giving it a perfect score for a GOURMET poutine. I haven't tried their regular poutine though.

Well I now know what I'm doing next time I'm around Dundas & Ossington.

what about the prices, AJ?

Let's do another poutine run. I had some at Chehoski's on Queen west last night and it rocked. I want more.:)

intial conversations are leading to a poutining the week of th e5th to the 9th.

The next question is when & where?

I'm up for all manner of poutine just as long as it's top notch. That said, I'm inclined to either check out the Lakeview (can't really go against a Quebecer's recommendation afterall), or return to Smoke's to continue sampling my way through that glorious menu.

Lakeview is not a poutinerie. They just happen to make one great gourmet poutine. I don't know about their basic one, but since my curds weren't squeeky, I wouldn't order their regular one. I would order their "Poutine Lakeview" poutine anytime though, they're open way late even after bar hours. http://www.blogto.com/restaurants/lakeview

I'm good for another Smoke's though for their pulled pig poutine for the halibut. I'm hearing some good things about it.
