nice pick up...waiting for the 135s to come out, going to be a hard choice between the 335 coupe and one of those

335. It may be as quick or quicker than the m3. The m3 had 333 horses and this has 300. The takeoff is def faster.

I traded in the m3. It wouldn't start, had transmission problems and the light for the catalytic converter turned on (something about being over the emission threshold).

Now all I have to worry about is gas and tires til I hit 50,000 miles.

I'd rather have the auto.. the 335 auto tranny with sports mode is one of the best.

That six-speed Steptronic transmission, a $1,275 option, is quite a nice piece. Not only are shifts firm and positive, but when commanded manually, they happen right now, with the throttle blipping up to match revs during downshifts. Manual control is available by slapping the shift lever to the left and flicking it forward for downshifts and back for upshifts. Steering wheel paddles that do the same are a worthwhile $100 upgrade.

it's quicker than an e46 m3, because its certainly not quicker than the new e9x m3.

also while the 335's twin turbo's (one per 3 cylinders) are meant to fight turbo lag, there is still lag - the naturally aspirated e46 m3 will have the quicker off the line jump, but when the 335 finally hits the power band it will make up the difference

lol @ gettin an automatic tho - at least you finally wised up and didn't get another vert, but then again, you're not an enthusiast by any stretch of the imagination, you bought it b/c it's a bmw and you live in LA

I really do not like the styling of the 1 series too much. It isn't as clean as the 335. Plus it really is not that much lighter either

The 335i is a sweet ride:toocool:

It has the paddle shifters and butt warmers and bluetooth. The paddle shifters are a lil different that the ones I had on the me, I guess you can downshift with your thumbs.

My m3 was SMG, I rented a manual rent a car in Ibiza last summer (poor car) but I've never really owned a full manual.

Manual could get annoying in traffic, on hills or while getting road :gsmile:
