God Damn Used Carso

So I just got a used car, a '99 Alero, and three days after picking it up, its broke on me. I drove over to my buddies place and we were gonna cruise around and puff. I parked on the side of his building and now I can't, for whatever reason, shift out of park. It's straight up stuck, won't budge. I'm also parked on a "Resident Preferred Parking" side of the street, meaning you're ticketed if you don't have a permit saying you live at the place you're parked in front of.

Something similar to that nature happened to my Subaru.
Wouldn't budge out of Park because I had something fried below the dashboard, drivers side. I forgot what it was called but it initiated when the brake was pushed down, allowing you to switch gears. If I remember what it was called I'll tell you, don't know if that's the case or not but you never know :p
My memories been a bit blah lately :( |

this is exactly why i refuse to be used. or , at least, used that is more than 2 years old.
i don't want to inherit someone else's problems.

| I was reading about some similar problems people had. Sounds more or less like I'm going to have to get it towed, or it could be just a $15 problem, but I have no way of fixing it right now. I have about 5% chance it'll just work next time I try. |

i drive a 92' plymouth acclaim. that is ing ghetto as hell. 100hp ftw. no power windows, doors, seats no abs. only hot air, broken CASSETEE player. it's pretty bad.
anyway, that sucks with your car issue, hope you get it fixed. thats really odd how it's just stuck. |

Not sure how it works because I never drive automatic, but I recall the gears being stuck sometimes in rentals I've driven if the steering lock is still engaged. Sometimes you have to fiddle with the ignition and steering wheel and make sure you hear some sort of click then you can take the car out of park.
Not sure, again, what I'm talking about because it's very rare that I drive auto and I can't remember exactly what the above process was and why. |
