It's about 2 hours on the coach, but probably 1:30 mins by car, maybe a bit less. I've only ever been to Leeds once, and that was the outskirts of Leeds (some town called Pudsey).
Distance wise, probably 100-150 miles, at a guess.
It's not too far anyway. |

Will do...I'm coming over on my own to I'm hoping to meet lots of peeps..I hear Leeds has a good scene...at least if not for trance..a good night life in general.
This may seem a stupid question..but I know England is ing expensive...so how much can one expect to spend on a night out? lets say...nothing too crazy..but like a club admission..maybe a pill (what can I say..I hear you have good stuff over there..gotta try it at least once);) whatever else??:p |

England's not an expensive place, for some things.
We're a total rip off for petrol, computers, cars, and a lot of expensive things. As for clubbing, we're like most countries. Some cities (eg London) will rob you of all your money before you're drunk. Other areas like the North East have several all-you-can-drink nightclubs, and one nightclub near me (it's on a boat with a revolving dancefloor, but plays cheesy music) does 20p a pint on Monday. That's cheaper than water! So it all depends where you go. And I guess, like any country, the big clubs with the big DJs will charge you more - they have to.
Leeds definitely has a good nightlife (excluding trance) from what I've heard. They have Sundissential, which is a big hard house club with world class DJs every week. It is also well located, since it's fairly close (within 100 miles) of all the major clubbing areas of Britain I would say. Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, they all have good scenes outside of trance.
Technically, pills are cheaper than getting drunk, at least at first they are. I have been offered pills as low as £2, but usually get offered them around £5. I was once offered (yes I get offered them a lot for some reason, but rarely ask) for £15 for one! I told him where to go. Obviously, if you take them regularly, they'll have less effect on you, and your tolerance levels will increase. That's bad news on the wallet unfortunately. I'm not too into pills, only if I'm skint (I prefer to get drunk), so you're probably best off speaking to someone like DuMonde Trancer, he seems to know his cakes!
As for how much someone spends on a night out, it's a difficult question. Do you mean drinking? Do you mean a night out where you go to about 15 bars, get slaughtered, then go to a club, or a night out where you spend the whole night in a good trance club listening to big name DJs? Do you mean with pills or with beer? It's a hard one to answer. The all-you-can-drink nights for example are usually at cheesy clubs, and are a midweek night. They fill up ebcause they're cheap (they get packed) but the city doesn't. The one on the boat in Newcastle is on a thursday night for example.
Call me a cheapskate, but I always ask what the prices are before I buy if I'm in a city centre. Saves you getting royally ripped off. |

If you want an example of club admission, I'll give you a couple of examples.
Let's assume you're going to Crasher in Sheffield. One of the best weekly trance nights in the world. It will go monthly in June, which is sad, but they claim it'll be much better too. It will probably become the best regular trance night in the world, although I've never been (the other'll fill you in on it).
If it's your first time taking cakes, 1 should be enough (many people just bite it in half and have half their first time). Let's assume you get a pill for £5.
Crasher is on from 9 till 6 every week, so unless you're really fussed about an afterparty and you're on cakes not beer, the only other price to add is entrance.
It costs £12.50 before 10:30 p.m on an average night. That's not really a rip-off considering that this Friday for that price you get: DUMONDE (4HR SET) / MATT HARDWICK / EDDIE HALLIWELL. The week after they have: FERRY CORSTEN (3HR SET) / MIKE (PUSH) (3HR SET) / DANIEL BAILEY / NICK RILEY And after that they have: PAUL OAKENFOLD / MARCO V / MATT HARDWICK / NICK RILEY.
£12.50 for that is a good deal IMO. I just wish I lived closer to Crasher!
So altogether you're talking under 20 quid for a night at Crasher. Travelling costs are another matter. The train will probably be a rip-off but Crasher do coaches which take you from Leeds to Crasher, include your entrance fee, and take you back for under £30.
That's one of the most expensive weekly nights in the country, so regular events won't cost much more.
As for big events, they're another story. £30 entrance fee is what we all paid for Godskitchen in Newcastle, and I think the NEC was about £40 entrance. A hefty price, but you're paying to see some of the best lineups in the world, so it's expected I suppose.
If you keep your wits about you and plan you journies, you shouldn't get ripped off too badly.
I just realised how much I typed. Spose I've got nowt else to do on a Thursday morning  |

That didn't happen to at The Millenium Dome did it ALEX?? Cos i got asked aswell at the price of £15, "On your way and SCATTER" i think my words were. As for STE, just look what he uses above his VATOR if he still got it PILLMONSTAH or summin, i agree, a safe be to ask him!

If I'm buying for a lass it's: "got any specials on?" :D
Yeah the £15 was at the Dome. Some tosser shook my hand, as thousands of people were on midnight (better than listening to Mr Pearce) and then asked if I wanted any pills. He was like "£15" with a serious face. I didn't know whether to laugh or punch him, but then again it's probably the London prices.
There's a few hours of that night I can't account for I was well hammered. The people I went with (friends of a friend, cos I couldn't find anyone else to go with) were Southerners, from Kent and London. They left at half past ing six. I was left on my own, completely lashed, in London at a 50,000 man rave, so I just stayed near the front in the main crowd. I ended up talking to some South African lass, who I spent the rest of the morning with getting royally lashed on Scotch. |

inside a club u will almost certainly be paying 5er for a pill, unless you are at a big event thats got highish security, in which case they can be upwards of 8 quid, or if the dealers eeds to get rid of a last few or if u know sum1 whose knows sum1 sorta then u may get discount, average prices around 3 quid in that situation. n pills r still cheaper than getting drunk for me, even if i pay fiver a timne, coz i used to spend like 25-30 on drink on a night out back in the day! :eyes: n yeh on ur first time half is good, or u will have a bad comedown/go mental for a day like gibbo did :stongue: i had a full one first time n didnt ave any bad effects for me but i think i was just lucky! :D
as for crasher nights, i on avarage spend about 50, that is, normally 28.50 for the coach to get there (i live far away!) and the ticket price. then 15 quid for 3 pills, i dont think ive ever had them cheap in a club! :o then of course a couple of quid for water and lollys pops or whatever (to quell the gurning! )! :D
of coruse the chesterfieldians probs spend less coz its the travel costs that usually make it expensive. other than that for 9-6 with top lineups its defo's worth it! even it 50 quid for the whole night in my opinion! |
