I went down with a few mates ALEX!!
Got on the NATIONAL EXPRESS from BORO BUS STATION (the bus had already been to geordie land) sat on the coach, all people on it, read ministry mag and a few mix mags, had a few cans (wernt allowed, but who gives a ) and before i knew it we were in GRENWICH cos we were having a laugh and spreading out on the coach so it seemed to take no time.
Stayed above this very big pub in GRENWICH, went out into the town which was in e cos it seemed like all the southerners had forgotten it was New Years Eve!!! For SAKE!!!!
The walked to the dome, waited a bit to get in, got in and my eyes almost fell out when i realised the size of the place, got my telescope out:D and found the MAIN STAGE where i found DAVE PENISplaying, so i went for some bottles, found out the bar was like a in RUGBY SCRUM, so i got 10, shoved em in me pockets and supped them sharpish.
You saud u talked to some SOITH AFRICAN lass, was it me, or was there more people from everywhere else rather than from LONDON???? |

Totally!
First person I asked for direction from was deaf! The second was Russian! The third was German! I you not. The Russian barely spoke any English (he sounded Russian) and the German didn't know where the to direct me.
When I got to the guy's house and got the train back up to Charing Cross from south east London, everyone on the train was black except me. I sort of know how they feel in all-white areas like here now!
This South African lass was hot, but it may have just been me beer goggles. I lost her in the end. I think I ruined it cost I just go mashed on Scotch I was all over the place! I had loads of drinks tokens cos the lads that left gave me theirs! I was ing rolling in drinks tokens!
When the others left I said my good-byes and head straight back to a random spot in the crowd, next to the fittest lass I could find. She asked me who was playing I said Tiesto. Before I knew it we were at the champagne bar wasting those tokens. Of course, for every one she had I had about 3, and I'd already been drinking like a fish all the day before, all night and all morning.
Has to be one of the best nights I ever had. It was class the way the sun just shone right through the Dome. This lass in front of me had a hypothermia blanket and there's me in a t-shirt.
I agree someone should have reminded them it was new years eve. A few cockneys on the train were a bit mashed at about 4 in the afternoon, but not too badly. This lass we were with left at 12:30! After paying £50 for her ticket! She gave us her drinks tokens she'd queued for (she felt ill) so we divvied them up between us. |

Yeah beer goggles, beer jacket, beer compass. I was well prepared :D
I hope they have it again this year. Apparently the reason the sound system wasn't thumping was because of strict laws on the Thames for noise levels. Being in an awkward location, they got affected.
If it's on this year I'm definitely going. I just wish someone better than Ministry would organise it. |

Yeah, i've recruited some more troops (me mates) to come this year if it goes ahead. There's no reason why it shouldn't of they said they made millions!!
I'll be there!!! Same method of travell aswell. Me brother who can with me was going to drive down but it's worth it with parking and cost. For me the NATIONAL EXPRESS was far better than the train, trains are hassle, and these days you don't know what your going to get with them! |

I got the coach, on my feckin own as well both ways. Cheaper than the train, but bloody long.
I might fly this time ;)
Go airways fly to London for £15, and the same back, if you get one of those ty early morning middle of the week flights. The coach cost me £35 return, so flying woulda been better. I think they go from Tesside as well as Newcastle.
Only problem is, Stansted is a long way out of London aparently, so you need a long bus ride into London. |

A mighty fine idea ALEX!!!
The bus ride from the airport not going to be that long considering you would've come down from NEWCASTLE on the bus.
Anyway, i'll have a word with me mates cos how quick would that be by plane??? |

Hmmmm...I'm pleased that it doesn't sound too expensive..if you're careful. I think I'll have to risk looking like a cheapskate sometimes by asking prices. I'm not a big pill popper so I won't have to worry about it. 2 pounds for a pill is ing cheap! But 8 pounds woiuld be the same as here in canada since we'd pay about 20 dollars which is about 8 pounds. I suppose cheap pints is where it's at...and I suppose all the best deals on beer will be on the domestic stuff, which is why I'm there...like, why the would I go to England to pay 3 pounds for a bottle of Budwiser!?!? I remember seeing all these people in England paying enormous prices for that ty american beer...when you have such a selection of other great beers!
Another thing I'm pleased about is the public transit in England. IN Canada and America you cannot go anywhere if you don't have a car. #1 our countries are huge and #2 our infrastructure is inferior and #3 gas and cars are so much cheaper so even the biggest welfare bum can still afford a car.
I need to make it to London Stansted airport on the 9th of May. ANybody know the cheapest route via plane, train or coach??
Thanks :D |
