hmmmm...wonder if it would be worth flying to Holland for a week in February then? I could stay with my friends in Noord Holland to cut the costs, but everything else will be in $$$ Euros. :whip:
Does TE usually sell out right away like Sensation White? Dunno if I can pull everything together by 11/24 (need to research airfares, etc.) Might also be FREEZING cold there, but have always wanted to be at TRANCE ENERGY! :D
Update: NWA = $615RT from LAX to AMS, anyone find anything better? |

That's about what I've been seeing for airfare. I'm using my flyer miles for my plane ticket. I went last year and it wasn't freezing it was actually very similar to San Francisco in December, which means I needed a light jacket. As for tickets, this place is absofricking huge. They hold the Dutch Tulip festival here the week before usually.. To my knowledge it does not sell out. And from being there I doubt it's possible. I bought my tickets 2 weeks ahead of time last year and they showed up withing 5 days of ordering them. The venue is right across the street from the train station which took us about 20 mins to get to from downtown Amsterdam.
Let me know if your going, there is usually a big Trance Addict meet-up the day before in Amsterdam.

Thanks for the tips! Been to Utrecht once and I seem to recall walking from the train station right into a huge mall there (couldn't get outside without going through it). I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to find a map at the tourist info center though, since it had recently been relocated. Everytime I got lost and asked someone where it was at, they mistakenly sent me back to the old one (but a different way each time!) So, for anyone going who needs to get a map or whatever, Tourist Info is right underneath the old Church behind some sidewalk cafes...look for the little "i" sign behind a bunch of people eating (assuming the weather is decent and the outdoor cafes are open).
I can't do WMC in March since the date conflicts with my schedule at work, and I think the flight to AMS is about the same price as to Miami WMC weekend, so I'm serioussssly considering TE2008 instead!
Looks like one Euro will be 2USD by February at the rate it's going lately, so the affordability factor could really suck. All that said, I wonder if it would be any better in 2009? The DJ lineup looks pretty stellar, so maybe it's time to bite the bullet and just do it! |

Here are some interesting facts about Trance Energy from Wiki (click the pic below):

Looks like it sold out every year since 2002! Last year, tickets were €37 ("subject to booking fee"). For Sensation White in 2006, TicketOnline.nl had a special phone number that international customers could call and order tix in advance of the official sale date. I have emailed them to see whether this will happen again for TE, will let everyone know what I hear back. Here's a map showing how to get there from Utrech Centraal Station - Jaarbeurs is on the left, see the red "U":

The temperature average for Holland in February is 42 (day) and 31 (night). Last year was unseasonably warm, which only happens every 8,000 years, or in the event this was caused by global warming, perhaps every year now... :nervous: |

TRANCE ENERGY 2008: TICKET SALES BEGIN SOON
The global dance community is gearing up for its fifteenth Trance Energy, the world’s biggest and best trance party. This special anniversary event is being at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht on Saturday 23 February.
Since it was first held in Eindhoven in 1999, when Tiësto and Marco V headlined, Trance Energy has grown into a prestigious international event attracting dance lovers from all over the world and all the top names behind the decks: Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Marcel Woods, Johan Gielen, Armin van Buuren, Rank1, Cosmic Gate, Judge Jules and many more.
For 2008, there are some new surprises in store. The anniversary event features four stages: Main, Club, Future and High Contrast. And, building on the tradition of past years, more than ever these are going to showcase outstanding newcomers – the sound of the future – alongside the star names.
Trance Energy 2007 was a huge success in every respect, with 30,000 visitors selling out the Jaarbeurs, a fantastic atmosphere in all four areas and great sets from DJs including British superstar Paul Oakenfold. This year you can expect even more music and even more show at an extra special fifteenth Trance Energy party.
