I'm dying of this cold. It's been two days and I finally have enough energy to get out of bed.
I've taken ZICAM and Contact but i still feel like crap... do you guys have any OTC recommendations?
Thanks! |

x2 on a serious note, Airborn does work. Also load up on vitamin C (take a couple supplements a day) |

Yea, the AIRBORNE and other zinc suppliments are really only effective if you start pushing it RIGHT when you notice the first symptoms. Even then, it's no guarantee.
What kinds of symptoms are you having? Fever, congestion, lungs or sinuses? |

We've gone through this before and probably will again, over & over...
Airborne is good if you're going to be around alot of people and if YOU'RE NOT sick yet.
Zicam (nasal gel spray) helps you get over your cold alittle faster but I think you just have to let the cold take it's course. As for all those over the counter meds, they just help you feel alittle better but there's really nothing that can make it go away. You may feel and/or think that your cold is gone but many times it's still there and when your system is weak (tired, stressed, etc...) it just comes back again.
Best thing to do to feel better quicker is get lots of rest, drink lots of juice (cranberry & orange) and maybe take something like Theraflu or even Alka-zeltzer cold plus and sweat it out! Just don't let the cold air hit you when you're all sweated out.
Another thing is we sometimes think (like me) that we just have a cold when we really have is a freakin sinus infection and for that you need antibiotics. Otherwise, you're gonna feel fine on a few days and then you're feeling all ty again the next days (like me).
I always still feeling ty again when the weekend arrives... headaches, nasal conjestion, sneazing, sore throat. |

You realize Airborn is mainly Vitamin C, right? hehe. 1000mg in it if I recall correctly. A few other herbal things in it, too.
Do people even read ingredients!
Anyhow, all these things are mainly to help your immune system before you get sick or RIGHT when you feel the first systems. Once it's full blow, Airborn will boost your immune system a bit to help fight it off, but nothing will really prevent the peak of the cold from occuring.
All you can do is take OTC meds to suppress the symptoms. Remember, there is no known cure for the common cold lol. |

time.
the thing that hooks people on cold meds is that they wait until the cold is the worst to try it out. then the cold subsides and they blame it on the medicine or whatever they did. when really it takes about a week to get over a tough cold. so you will feel better over time, just wait around and take stuff to treat the symptoms if they are really bad. |
