not to mention the dude is still a legend from the Deep Dish days.
you all, i'm downloading this and fastforwarding straight to emissions. |
i'm really digging his recent recent stuff. stop the revolution remix, ribcage... it's a really dense, pulsing sound i love. |

Dubfire's music is... well how can I explain this best...
ok
Dubfire's music sounds like: if an Afghani person dwelling in a cave for better part of a decade were to get a hold of some music production equipment; take the crash course (wikipedia article) on minimal music; and throw down something within two months. This would also have to be during the American occupation and bombing to serve as a constant distraction from the creative process.
It's throbbing, it's "pulsing", and makes you want to drink absinthe and have unprotected sex with girls of Slavic descent. |

| on the whole i don't love/hate dubfire any more than any other producer these days, but 'emissions' and the first half of his 'float away' remix are just awful imo. the seconds half of the float away remix is actually pretty good. |

Why does everyone jump to the 'hating' argument when people criticize music a popular producer puts out? I think Emissions is . I think his rework of Spastik is a complete disgrace. I also like his remix of Transit Time, I like RibCage, and I like his dub of Axwell's I Found You.
And, honestly, who cares if he is a 'legend' from the Deep Dish days. Paul Oakenfold is a 'legend' too and he is total now. |

You have a good point. I guess I was going off of the "we're off to a bad start because you chose to include this song in your mix" argument.
obviously meant as a joke but at the same time it's a bit similar to a situation i've been experiencing lately (and sorry to beat a dead horse) with deadmau5 tracks.
Like, if I am to include a deadmau5 track in a demo all of a sudden I'm a poser. But when I'm playing live and drop it at the club, everyone goes nuts.
Same with Dubfire. Like Blake said, it's almost cool to hate on something "popular" and disregard an artist that would dare to play it.
Or am I way off? |
