| How many of you are active voters is what I want to know. Yes Ron Paul is all over the internet, but he won't get anywhere if no one votes for him. Historically, the 20-30 age group of voters have been the lowest participating group. Last election, only 7 million out of 52 million 20-30 year olds voted. That's a SHAME SHAME SHAME!! |

Yeah cos those who wouldn't normally be arsed to vote have defiantly fully considered how to use their vote and will in no way nullify the choices of the people who actually bother to look into it.
To be honest to me in a lot of ways compulsory voting is the undemocratic. (though suppose you could just spoil your ballet). |

If you mean just tick the box that says abstain from voting for any candidates...
Doesn't take much to go out and vote. |

Nah meant tick two boxes (result = spoiled paper... if possible with the system).
But being forced to vote... hmm can understand the concept but...
1) If voting is seen as a duty (as in compulsory).
2) If you were to not vote in protest.
3) Not pay the fine, again in protest.
You could be imprisoned (have your freedom and hypothetically your right to vote/choose to vote taken away) for not being willing to divulge your opinion on who you would be best to lead (i.e. your choice) once. Just seems heavily ironic.
Aside point: I know this going to muddy it even more but have to say in a lot of ways voting on an individual level is entirely pointless (had many debates on that one but really it is). |

Strong incentives should be given to voters. Like free money in whatever form it takes, i.e. tax incentives?.. |
