Yea, I have both sets and both videos. I merely got the videos the wrong way round. And I didn't mention anything about 'Twisted,' that was someone else.

I wouldn't be. But nevertheless I'll upload the Mayday one when I get home from work. Don't be expecting the DMCs or anything. But it does meet all the requirements the first post; 14 tracks in an hour, aggressive mixing, risky track selection. It's good.

I always remember the first 25 minutes from this, wasn't a bad set, and he did do a bit of scratching which came off better than dj jean's ever did. The bootleg of liberation used to get me moist too :p

/backs away from mikey & karim's arguing

There you go. There's 2 examples of a DJ who plays some trance taking 'risks' - whatever the that's supposed to mean anyway - whilst still keep a decent level of control. Especially at Mayday. And for the record, I am sticking to your definition of 'risk' here. As far as I'm concerned, in the real sense of the word, no such thing exists when it comes to mixing trance. Or not the type of trance you listen to anyway.

If you want to know what real 'risks' and innovation are, then get Westbam - Live At Loveradio (09-07-2004).

Mayday 02.

that liberation acapella did not fit at all
I liked the idea of recovered and beauty of silence though, I'm sure I recreated it once and did it much much better though

haha yeah.. the scratching bit was a bit neat i thought... he had to have it on cue the whole time. He rewinded it quick and let it through. Im sure hte cocaine helped his relfexes..

I dunno if you have heard anything else by Gielen beside that set. He is a horrible DJ and Mikey Mike is true in that sence that he can't DJ properly. As a matter of fact he trainwrecks more often nowadays than he did on that Trance Energy set. so it's not really risk taking. It's more sloppy mixing. He trainwrecks more than Tiesto! LOL :D
