I'm glad Germany is in the same group as Wales, as I can see them play here hopefully but wish Sweden or England was drawn from pot 2 with them. Ah well. When do these matches start? Fall of 2008 or early 2009?

Fall of 2008.

avg temps in South Africa during june and july seem to be in the low to mid 20s, but then again you never know with global warming how it'll be in 2010 :toothless

temps will be perfect for football in winter in SA, though it might get a bit vcold for slome fans for the evening games.
will be funny to see if any goalkeepers can kick the length of the field at the higher altitudes (Joburg or pretoria), in ruggbyu it's not uncommon to see field goals from 60 yards at altitude.

real football eh? You mean the game where there's actually maybe 12 minutes of ACTUAL game play?

The rest of the world outside the USA (yes there IS one!) calls "soccer" football and looks down their nose at your "football". Why is it called football anyway? Only the kicker and punter actually kick the ball....

idiot.

And what about the cross country kids who run at least 10 miles not 10 km every day in the same weather?

If you're a pro soccer player and you can't run 10km in 40C you deserve to lose.

Here is that article I was talking about. And I agree with you wind speed is a bunch of bull. Just like the heat.

For Christs sake, stop calling it "real football"

Anyway...I would have preferred to avoid England as they will be looking for revenge but never mind. Should make it interesting.

No group of death this time, though I can see a couple of possible surprises.

I'm not the idiot. An idiot would be someone who takes the bait.
But listen soccer is just a truncation of Association football. So next time you hear the word just replace it in your little head with association football that way you don't get it mixed up with real football.

Anyway back to my real point. People need to STFU about the weather and blaming it for poor performance.

Notice how the word "football" is in there?

Also, if American Football is real football, why is it called American Football and not Football? Because it came after real football which is soccer you twat.

"Real Football" ffs. Every time you say it it makes my blood boil. You need a good throat punch.

That is exactly why I say it. If you could keep control over your own emotions and not let something someone else says affect you so much I wouldn't say it.

But seriously american tackle football has preference over association diveball. Therefore it has become the real thing.

Please don't throat punch me. I'll have to run after you for two steps then dive for it like Dida.

The heat is one of the biggest factors that will affect athletes performance.

Look at the marathon in the greek olympics in 2004. Paula radcliffe was one of the favourites and even she dropped out due to heat exhaustion.

It's a fact that playing in high temperatures when your not used to it (spanish, italian, english, german football is all played thru the winter months) will seriously affect your ability to perform for the duration of a football match.

Heat is a factor but it is a factor for everyone. Like I said here people die every year from practicing in the 40C heat. It isn't uncommon for players to have to be given IV fluids after games. But I don't think it is a deciding factor for a game, and I really don't think it is going to be close to that hot during the WC.

people die in your "real football" because half the line is overweight. they never train properly, and guzzle beers after practices games. the shape of non-professional american athletes is atrocious. now i'm not saying everyone, but half these fat s are just genetic monstrocities left over from slavery.

a 6' 7" 340 lbs black man with a poor heart history in his family shouldn't wonder why he just collapsed in 90 *F humid weather.
