Memphis Airport Sucks! (but i got a free ticket!)

Stupid ass KMEM Airport.
so i got a free round-trip ticket to anywhere in the CONUS/CANADA/ALASKA thru Northwest Airlines because i volunteered to give my seat up and take a later flight. (got home 7 hrs later than originally anticipated).
where should i go? what time of year? cool places to visit?
i need ideas:D |

I got the same offer last year flying United last year at Dulles in Washington while on business to Buenos Aires.
They bumped me involuntarily, and offered me a free ticket in the continental US and Canada, or $400USD. They bumped me by a whole day, gave me a night in an executive room at a Holiday Inn, and three meal vouchers until my next flight the following day.
I did some shopping at a mall, got to my office in Argentina late, but I came our $400 bucks richer, and of course, I didn't tell my company I got comped so well as the cheque was made in my name, not my company's.
I did miss a Sunday of touring Buenos Aires before I started work that week, but hey, $400 bucks is 400 bucks. |

i was only bumped 5 hrs later. and it was in memphis.
it sucked.
but worth the ticket, now that i'm home. |
