So...

Who has had surgery? What type of surgery was it? What was it like? Did you have to pay a lot of money? What did you feel like after it was done? Are you glad you got it done?

Just curious about people and their surgery stories.

Eye surgery, when I was about 6-8. It was painful.

What was it for?

Me. I had my knee operated on when I was a younger because of too much damaged done to it playing le futbol and snowboarding. Had my nose worked on in the winter/spring to correct the inside because I had constant nose bleeds, everyday. Didn't pay a cent for either. I felt sore, but relieved for both. Yes, I'm glad I got it done.

Got my adenoids taken out because they were blocking my nasal cavity due to swelling. Projectile vomiting at nurses is fun. :gsmile:

Did you have to go under? What did it feel like?

For my knee , ya. Apparently now you have the choice, but I honestly don't know why someone would choose not to go under.

When I had my nose worked with, and no it wasn't a "nose job" it still looks identically the same. It was inside that was fixed, I was awake the whole time. I mean it hurt a lot. I had a section of my nose removed inside and replaced with a tiiiiiiiiny little piece of metal, which was eventually removed but I felt every moment of it.

Appendix ruptured, was in the hospital for a week. Two months later they knocked me out and took it. Woke up a few hours later, or so, feeling groggy as . Out the next day.

What're you goin' under the knife for? Getting new boobs? Hmm?

I got 4 stitches in my thumb once...

only one in the last 15 years was for my wisdom teeth, got knocked completely out, felt like when i came to, vomitted a bit, then was absolutely fine and eating food by that evening
plus i had a bottle of pills which got me through the rest of that month quite pleasantly

yeah, i've never broken anything or had any major injuries. to be honest i could definitely use knee surgery on both my knees but i'm not planning on playing sports competitively like i did in high school so whatever, i'll live with it. also with my knees ed up, i can tell when its gonna rain!

Post lolcats at least! :whip:

Being my mother was a medical professional I ended up at the dentists having my teeth harassed for what seemed like forever when I was little, it was horrible. Free... free pain that is!
Fairly extensive surgery for a broken nose, cheekbone and some little bone near my left eye, that was a couple of sessions and some of the unhappiest and in the most pain I've been in my life. (health insurance/suing covered that one)
Up until I mangled my knee skiing.
I can't even begin to describe how much that hurt and continued to hurt for about 3-4 months after. Heck, it still hurts if I do anything to put a lot of stress on it, but it works. Mostly... that was covered by health insurance
Bit of laser surgery on my face a few years ago, got rid of a few fine scars and blemishes. I guess that was vanity more than anything else but I do like my skin, to the tune of several thousand bucks.
