Everything. What isn't stupid about him? Unexperienced driver behind the wheel of one of the most exotic sports cars in the world. Not a good combo! Do you honestly think driving at 200+ MPH on a public roadway is safe, especially at night! Headlights don't even give safe reaction times when you drive 75 mph, let alone 219.

As I said before, reaction times are drastically reduced going at such a speed. Also take into consideration other cars on the road going a mere ~65 mph. A typical car is not capable of protecting passengers from this type of force. Add to that the fact that this idiot doesn't have the car control skills or the reflexes to be able to prevent a collision at these speeds.

He SHOULD be racing this in a controlled track environment where if an accident were to occur, he wouldn't be putting the lives of innocent people at danger for no apparent reason. It does not justify racing the car on this highway simply because there aren't that many cars on the highway at the moment he is racing. God forbid he were to have crashed into anyone, all passengers from both vehicles would be dead.

Refer to the what's so stupid about him response if anyone intends driving like this outside of a racetrack or the Autobahn.

There's nothing inherently safer about the autobahn than the road he was driving on. Also, how can you say he's inexperienced? For all you know he races cars for a living. I'll agree with you that driving that fast is dangerous, but he seemed to know what he was doing, and the freeway he did it on was almost completely deserted.

I'm not that into cars and don't know, but I would guess that it would be hard to find a public racetrack with a long enough straightaway to hit that top speed.

Just a few points I'd like to make:

1. Whats the point of criticizing the way he shifts with the paddles? What makes you an expert on Lamborghini egear shifting? When was the last time you drove a Lamborghini with paddle shifters?

2. Reaction times are slowed down at 200 mph? Geez, I thought he'd for sure be much more attentive doing this high speed run than driving from work in the evening.

3. Headlights dont project far enough for this speed? The highway is well lit actually...

4. High speed in a Lamborghini is significantly safer than in most other cars. Every part of the car has been designed to withstand that speed (including tires and breaks).

5. How do you know that he is an inexperienced driver?

6. No normal race track is long enough to reach this kind of speeds in street cars.

It seemed like they had a fair amount of organization but their biggest mistake was doing this with other cars present - only a couple on their side of the highway but still dangerous and invites massive amounts of criticism from people. Another mistake was making it so public. This and similar other runs might be used to promote bigger speeding penalties by soccer mom appealing politicians (OMG he nearly killed 2 people! Headline: highway massacre barely avoided!)

Now to all the whiners who say "what if...(insert possible disastrous situation here)" I say - if you constantly think in terms of "what if" then you might as well not try anything risky and live a completely boring, uneventful, generic life.

All that said, I love Lamborghinis and if someday I am able to buy my own I will certainly attempt something similar. I'll try to find a more secluded environment though.
