Misanthropy is amusing for small periods of time, after that people start to notice and threaten to lock you up.
I'm just sticking to being cynical and pragmatic. |
Musn't forget self-aggrandizing, cheeky, sarcastic, prudish and pretentious! I dunno which ones of those people ever really grow out of though. |

I feel the exact same way.
Though I suspect it may not quite be a phase for me at this point. :P |
Haha...GET OVER IT!
For real though...the way I look at it is just to remember that I was wrong before, so I'll probably be wrong again. Plus, to me it's ludicrous to truly believe that I'll be stuck in the same mindset till the end of time. May as well commit me to the ing loony bin if that's true.

Does one have to be cynical to be pragmatic? Someone told me I was pragmatic, and while I AM...I was still insulted, lol. I think because I DO associate it with being cynical.
And yeah...the whole misanthropy thing is wearing thin for me. I mean, I do enjoy getting my hate on...but there's no way in hell I could commit 100% of my being to it, lol.
I'm really just struggling to find the balance between my two extremes: Molly ing Sunshine and *hatehatehate*.
*sigh* |

It's really not all that bad.
Maybe you're just listening to the wrong music. |

i quit being a horribly bad mr know it all. it still gets the best of me at times but overall i generally consider other views and really take them into consideration.
i can admit im wrong now, whereas before id just go on my merry way before id admit it.
im more confident though than i was then. |

I don't think so, but a desperate lack of one or the other will just mean you're a complete bunny that's eventually stuck in a hole and too damn ingrained in your own opinion to ever find your way out.
A lot of people look at pragmaticism as a bad thing, taking the extreme example of someone who never sticks to one thing and flies off on tangents all the time, but like in most things, moderation of that part of your personality will allow you to both adapt and be flexible to changing situations.

Too much damn effort, it's easier to ignore and 'cut the fat' from ones life than just go railing away at everything. You'll just waste your time with things and people that ultimately, don't matter. And certainly not worthy of your attention.

lol
No one falls for the first one any more, they just think I'm warming them up for a savage beating of epic proportions... I need new victims. |

Ive actually given up drinking, for the most part. I think I probably get drunk maybe every other month, nowadays.
Im also not straightening my hair anymore... its kind of weird, and maybe not "adolescent," but it feels more grown up to just let it be curly and messy.
Well, plus Ive been told it's hotter that way. So that helps.
Im also not getting pierced anymore. I probably wont take out the ones I have for a long time, though. |

Hahaha...my buddy and I were talking about this actually. I was like "They should make a video game called "Pwning Nubs", and he was like "Yeah, it's already called "The Internet". Lololololol. |

Takin it back to your OP jennypie, but that receding gum business is serious ... I had my tongue ring(s) in for a good 6 years. They were a 6 ga and a 10 ga too, so it was some pretty intense metal. Anyhow, not only did my gums start receding, but it actually wore a hole in the BOTTOM of my gums, exposing the bottom of one of my front teeth! Uber painful. The result was an excruciating skin graft and a vow to never pierce the inside of my mouth again!
I feel your pain man!
My two big teenage bygones are drinking and smoking (cigarettes).
(well... that and 6 daily hours of internet pr0n)
:haha: |
