French dude wants to come to the US

Hello fellow TA's
I was wondering if you could help me out here. I want to come to the US for a month and I haven't decided where I wanted to go.
So I said to myself "why not meet some fellow trancers from the other side of the planet?"
Do you know where I could find cheap accomodation anywhere in the West Coast, preferably in a city with a nice music scene (San Francisco or Los Angeles)
Let me know if that sounds either possible or totally crazy.

| you thought about NY or Miami too, I wouldnt want to live in Miami, but outside is nice. San Diego is cool too. |

| dont go to LA much and never been to miami but you cant go wrong with SF or NYC althought theyre likey the more expensive of the 4 |

| San Diego and Miami are definitley more affordable than New York and Los Angeles. And having said that, you'll probably want to experience the whole vibe thing we have going on here in California. San Diego and Los Angeles are actually so close that you could do both, and a lot of promoters book the same EDM acts in both cities when they roll through SoCal. |

SF has a great vibe with good people...
LA has a horrible vibe (except for TA's and ) but man... theres a party everyday of the week...
SF: aggressive crackheads all over the city
LA: tweeked out crackheads all up in the club |

Although San Francisco has everything that makes a great world-class city and is more than beautiful let me quote my girlfriend who called me from in front of her hotel on Union Square last SUMMER while she was in San Francisco for work.
"Hi, Damn this place is freezing! Just a minute, (as she is accosted by a transient and directs these comments to him), sorry I don't have any extra change and get away from me! Go away!!"
