2 lcd's or a wide screen?

I'm trying to work out whether I should purchase 2 x 17" ultrasharp monitors max res 1280 x 800 each or go for a wide screen with minimum 1600x? res.
I use Reason so my thinking behind this is split the sequencer and rack windows. But then maybe I could do that with a wide screen as well? I've worked on 2 monitors at work before and it is great. Never had a wide screen though.
Suggestions? |

a wide screen with a 1600 pixels resolution in the width should do :). 1 screen which fits both the windows of reason. Seems the most practical, and probaby the most efficient as well. |

| I'd say buy 2 normal 19" if you have the space.. |

true :)
2x19" widescreen might be a bit cheaper and is very nice as well, allthough 19" normal size would have a bit more screen space (pixels)
2x22" widescreen here, and loving it. |

I haven't found a std 19" that goes into higher res than 1280 x 800. That's what I have now and the res is too low for that size. Although it is a crap monitor but icons too big etc.
2 x widescreens I guess would be good but more expensive and lots of space required. I check out the difference is prices.

Can you post some screenies here or in the 'Home studio pictures' thread.
Just want to see how it'll look and how much space it'll take on a desk vs. how many extra screen estate it will give.
Have a 19" CRT and loving it, but miss some extra space.
Difficult to find the same one at the moment, so might as well go with a new widescreen or perhaps even two.

I just had a look and a 19" wide screen is the same price as the 17" std so I guess makes sense to go 2 x 19".
Hey anyone know if you can get a DUI adaptor for a drive-in? Just had a crazy thought!! |

I had the same problem having a 19" which took up the entire desk. Then I saw this great deal at the Office Centre and I jumped on it and got 2 of these 22" for little more than 430Euro :). Haven't seen these screens as cheap as that anywhere thus far. And I bought em half a year ago :D.
It's about 80cm wide in total I think (just a guess) ;)

Thanks for the picture. I think I'll be shopping for two new widescreens. Although I might go for something like those 20" Samsung 206BW.
Was never a big fan of these new screens as I still think CRT looks better. But eventually one has to choose between space, screen estate and quality.
I have a second 19" CRT next to the main one which is used rarely for an old pc.
Together they take up about 90cm. Seeing that picture it all looks more spacey than two 19" CRT and even leave me with some extra room.
If my eyes don't fool me those tiny letters on them say Acer?
For 22" they sure don't look that big which is great.
Again, thanks for the pic! :)

| Don't buy acer though if colour quality is an issue. The colours and inkijkhoek(:D) are quite a hassle with these. But I don't mind since I rarely do any graphic work. |

| There's another reason not to go above 19", if you like games you'll be better off with a 19". They are more than big enough any way :). |
