Hi all, I'm considering moving down to the carolinas or georgia for grad school. I'm in new york now, and I'm not really a big fan of the people around here. I was in the carolinas a few months back on business, and everyone there was wonderful. I even started dating a girl despite only being there for only two weeks!
I am just wondering how, how is the trance scene out here? |

| It's not NYC. You will be bored. With that said, it is NOT non-existent. ;) |

| there is a trance scene in atlanta, consisting of most of the major DJs that tour nationally(tiesto, pvd, ferry, etc) |

You can hang out with us. I'm trying to get more mixing sessions going, and my self-promotion will be going into overdrive very soon :D
Alok: Let's get a local Trance scene going, if possible. I know there are enough DJs from here and around the city that are clamoring for a Trance night somewhere, and the Midcity Cafe shows proved that Trance can have a decent draw here...
Are you looking into NC? In the west there's the Asheville Psy parties, and in the east is Chapel Hill with eclectic clubs, and good locals (Ambient DJs FTW). Lucky me is stuck in the "Hip-Hop/Breaks or go home" middle of Hickory. Charlotte has some big names come in (I saw Digweed recently), but otherwise its Hip-Hop and Breaks for 9 out of 10 events. |

Thanks man, that'd be awesome. I'm gonna check out some grad schools down there, I'll probably drop a pm or an email to ya sometime around that point.
From the people I spoke to down there, I've been told best bet is to live somewhere in SC and work in NC. Less rent, more pay, basically...
I was workin in Rock Hill (SC) and Fort Mill (NC) pretty close to the border, I made a few trips up to Charlotte and at 25 I felt pretty out of place at some of the spots I was going to... either too old or too young! I imagine I'd try to stay somewhere in that local, not sure of what schools are in the area that would be good for me though.
Otherwise I say it, lets start up our own rave scene! |
