I seriously hope thaat is BPM...135dB = TOO ING LOUD!

If this system is running at 135dB, regardless of the weighting, the tech responsible should know better and have his ass fired - this is how people get hurt.

I could see if this is just the level of a particular transient, but the odds of that are pretty slim.

Louder isn't better in all cases.

these db meters are obviously running on the overall club sound and not just off the equipment. where do they place the mics or sensors or whatever??
VinylJunkies
The unit at Dragonfly is a db meter not a bpm counter. This is London also has one.
Why would the ever install a bpm counter?

Anyways, they usually drop the mic in the center of the room/dancefloor
Dr. DAS
135dB SPL in the middle of the room makes the level at the source much, much louder. If this is 135dB, and it is measured in the middle of the room than whoever put this system together is an idiot.

Limiters exist for a reason.

im pretty sure that you're wrong. TIL has the same unit as dragonfly and ive seen them adjust the volume to raise or lower the levels. also, i doubt manzone&strong really play at 135bpm. i think ive seen them play at 133bpm at the most.

lol yeah that's what I thought too, cause 135 db is very very dangerous

Regular exposure of more than 1 minute
risks permanent hearing loss.

120 dB Thunderclap, discotheque/boom box
110-125 dB Stereo
110-140 dB Rock concerts
130 dB Jet takeoff, shotgun firing
145 dB Boom cars

I wonder how loud The Drink is. At some points on Sat it was unbearably loud.

I know! My ears sometimes hurt when I'm in there and it's empty like the time when Tommy Sunshine is there and my ears are already damaged from previous events without ear protection, so imagine virgin club/concert goers.
