I'm not in school anymore but when I was, I found that prog, jazz, deep house or just plain old instrumental music worked the best for me. Nothing with lyrics or a high bmp bcuz I would end up paying more attention to the music than my work.

When I'm studying I usually listen to baroques. stuff by guys like Steven Halpern and those classical orchestras...they work like a charm. Its music for accelerated learning.

But, when it is about engineering, problem solving and some hardcore mathematical stuff....psy trance does the job for me...banging basslines and beats goes really well with super-fast problem solving :)

Your answer lies in The Thievery corporation

Their album Om Lounge is great, but all their stuff is very chillin

That, or classical music
