Well I thought about it REALLY hard and now I've decided not to go
1) TOO COMMERCIAL !!!
2) TOO EXPENSIVE !!!
3) No where to dance ... due to the venue
4) Day time parties are wacked
I hope Tiesto will apear in the WEMF line up somehow. |

I'm sure that they'll have it set up like they did last year... with all of the bands/singers on stage, and the DJ's in a seperate area (probably a tent or something)... but I'm not buying my tix until I hear something official about that...
there isn't even an area2 website, wtf?! ... there was an area1 website last year...
For everyone complaining about the $75 ticket price, why not just buy a general admission ticket for $45... |

This smells like a pure disaster... I don't think you can throw a real party at the Molson amphitheater, its all seats right?? What are people going to do? where are they going to dance??
And honestly people, this party is geared for everyone, NOT the underground; so with respect to that do you guys honeslty think that Tiesto, Digweed and Cox are going to play their hottest new stuff? NO, they will cater to the GENERAL crowd and play their most commercialized 2 year old stuff...
This type of line-up deserves a venue such as the Better Living or Automotive building. Somewhere where you can fit 10,000 people, keep it underground and have a real party. Then i would be more than glad to drop 75CDN because it will be well worth it.
I have to respect Moby or whomever is throwing this party for what hes trying to do with this, bring the Electronic Music scene into the mainstream, but is this what we really want?? Like can you imagine having your parents tell you 5 years down the road, "oh i think i'm goin to go see the Paul Van Dyk concert today"??? I kind of don't want this to happen because once the corporate faggets get their hands on this scene its all over.. They will massage it and deliver it to everyone doorstep in a cheap, reduced version of what the scene should be... You see the European companies have kept it REAL sort of speak. They have in some ways delivered it to everyone over there but as it exists.. Having this type of event at a concert hall is a very clear indication of what the American corporations are trying to do with this..
Also any dj who agrees to play at this type of event, where u can't even en dance, is a sell out period. All they see is in terms of green and nothing else. This is one thing that Andre from Sonic State told me, "Tiesto has sold out" and he was soo right about that.
All in all, yes it is a spectacular line-up, but NO i will not attend... WEMF is a much better alternative in this case...
Thats my 2 cents... |

Well, they will probably have the tent set up for all the DJs (actually, the ad about this in Sun mentioned the tent), and from what I am hearing is that Molson can fit 16,000 people anyway... so if they were to take out the seats, that would be plenty of freaking dancing space.
Plus, what a hell are you people complaining about the ticket prices? If you really can't afford the $90 tix, just buy general admission $50 tix. Check the ticketmaster.ca for the prices... and yeah, tix go on sale today!
And about the WEMF, I don't think they will be booking someone like Tiesto anyway (too much $$$)... but if they do, damn, I'm hitting both of these parties.
And yeah, if Tiesto is a sell-out, then I suppose Digweed and Carl Cox are too.... get outta here *with italian mobster accent*... |

LOL, I love how people are getting all pissed off before even knowing the details! area 1 last year was absolutely wikked, I agree that this year the venue is worse in some ways than the docks, but it's going to be a much bigger show than last year so they have no choice but to move it... david bowie is a HUGE draw, along with moby...
There WILL be a seperate tent with all of the DJ's performing, just like how area 1 was done last year... i'm guessing most of you would want to go mainly to see digweed, tiesto, cox, so just buy a general admission ticket for $45... besides the lawn seats, the general admission tickets also get you access to the pit at the front of the stage, however that has a capacity of 1000 people so it will probably fill up fast...
The only thing i'm waiting for before buying my tickets is to see the confirmed line-up for toronto... |

Yes, this is great. I thought that I was going to miss the Area Two, because when it's in Massachusetts, I'll be at WEMF. But I just saw that it will be in Toronto on the 5th!! That works out so perfect! WEMF is aug 2-4, then on Sunday night I'll get a hotel in Toronto, and then Monday, we'll go to Area Two!!
Does anyone know what the differece is between the two ticket prices?
Like if I buy the cheaper one will I be able to see the DJ's?
I have a feeling that the cheaper one is just be able to see the DJ's and the more $$ one is so you can do both. (see the dj's and busta, moby etc) Because there is probably going to be 2 seperate areas. I think that they will either take out the seats inside the Venue, or have a tent outside for the DJ's. |

They won't be taking out the seats... ticketmaster is selling specific seat locations for this concert... |

Jazz:
Hehe looks like we were writing our posts at the same time. You answered my questions! :D
Just to clear things up.
So if I buy the general admission one for $45 then I'll be able to see the Dj's right. I dont care about busta, moby etc.
Thanks |

all tickets will get you access to the DJ tent and to the main stage... the difference in price is that the $45 tickets are just general admission, which means you don't get an assigned seat... you can sit on the lawn (behind the regular seats) or go to the pit in front of the stage (limited capacity)... the more expensive seats ($70, $90) get you an assigned seat like a traditional concert... |
