Bunch of young teens in a movie, being loud and obnoxious, laughing. (I'd take a ing bat to them for not shutting up)
One of their cell phone rings (God I hate these kids :D ), and the Call I.D. says Brenda, or some like that. They all go quiet with this look on their faces (Thank god the brats shut up).
Brenda is at home, writing, with her mom nearby.
Commentator: Your friends are all out having fun and you don't have a social life because your mom grounded you after she caught you smoking marijuana, and can't trust you again.
Not only is it a horrible commercial, but it also goes to show you how ed up the government in this country is.
Now they are trying to tell kids they will never have a social life if they smoke weed. And never be trusted by their parents again.

heh, I just bought a new pro B today (plastic). me and my friend chrstened it with a few bowls at a park near the store, then later that night me and my other friend finished off our HQ and then went to his house, ordered pizza and watched the leaf game/listened to Rage. good times.
i know my frequency is going to increase with me having my own B, but I hope i don't get too caught up in it and turn into a perma-fried dunce. |

i also wanted to comment that those type of commercials are foolish and a waste of time and money. the more kids growing up see the government and their parents telling them not to do something, the more they're going to want to do it. in Holland, kids don't give a rat about weed because they can go down to the convenient store and pick up an ounce anytime they want.

i think this is a very intresting a approach i really wonder what it would be like if they did the same thing in the us/over here i really think it would probably discourage more use i means its been really succesfull in holland hasn't it? |

not necissarily. i dont smoke weed or even cigarettes but that advert is seriously gay! mind you over here its not as bad, i suppose it would be the same if one of my mates parents caught them with pills they would get knackered, but i dont think anyway gives a rats arse about weed anymore, mind u my parents r alrite with me and drugs, as long as i dont get addict and start stealing stuff or whatever the stereotypical scenario is :stongue:
on the legal weed thing, it wud probably be best all round coz in the end its only like tobacca really, although seeing it slows reaction time like alcohol there would be a smoke and drive ban or sumthing, hehehehe, but seriously i dont see the problem with it, its pretty harmless... but i still dont like it! :toothless |

They don't sell weed in our convenience stores man, what did you think, you'd be getting your pawt along with yer groceries? They only sell weed in so called "coffee shops", nowhere else. Only legal to have 5 grams on you. Besides they won't sell it to kids anyways. |

it has just become class C now in england, so you can have it on you but only in small amounts. you can't smoke it in public or deal, but it is better now cos you can't get busted for haveing it on u :toothless |

I agree that our government is messed up but I think they really are just aiming at young kids. The one I saw (same theme) is a boy and his friends are outside having a water fight. He looks about 13. They've just been finding that kids are starting drugs younger and younger. To us that commercial looks stupid but there are a lot of 11/12 year olds that are going to relate to it and that it's going to affect.
Personally I think it's lame and pathetic, but if I really think about it, I think it is hitting it's target market. The logic is if you can make them feel bad about smoking pot at 11/12 then maybe when they're 14 they will just be trying pot and not doing coke/meth/etc.
Don't forget the Canadian government isn't really against pot anymore...they're slowly taking steps to legalize small ammounts, they're just trying to prevent future stuff in young kids |
