Well done. :stongue:

It's the internet forum version of child yelling, "I'm taking my ball and going home!" |

I also fail to see how religion and philosophy fall under "Political Discussion and Debate."
:conf:
And Clovis - that is honest to god what Myra actually told me the other night while discussing children.

Most of the religion topics that get started do seem to take on a strong political slant eventually ("look at all the fundies trying to gain power and force their beliefs on people," and so on).
Of course, that doesn't need to happen, but it seems like it usually does. |

Craig, your ability to compose yourself and address such intolerance and idiocy so thoroughly on a daily basis is insanely humbling. |
+1
and with reference to the painting:
while i am not christian, i was raised christian and do understand jesus's teachings...
i would interpret this as a "love your enemies/neighbors" lesson in tolerance, as much as it pains me to see that scene.

why does it pain you to see that picture?
if anything, seeing Jesus wash the feet of some people that you might hate should , if anything, strengthen your belief in how good of a person he was.
i guess its because you aren't Christian that it upsets you? i dunno.
that's my $0.02 for this thread. i'm out. |
