There was even a big line back stage to get drinks/water
Also, 1 porta potty for the back stage of one tent, is NOOOOOOOO where near enough. It was faster for me most of the time to just go in the VIP section to use the restroom and get drinks.
I only saw Robbie's set the first 5 mins of Tiesto and most of Sanchez's.
Thoughts:
ROBBIE RIVERA murdered, even the trance crowd was all over his set! A ton of the tracks he played are all new tracks from his label. Talk about an exclusive set. Ohh yeah, his wife is HOT! Spoke to them for a min backstage in Rogers tent.

Giant AvB was 10 times more organized.
Entry lines looked disgusting, I saw the GA line and it looked shorter then the VIP line. Looks like the ~160 wasnt too worth it
Security was a joke like always.
Roger's set was very good also, he kept on mashin up a few tracks at once and it sounded GREAT and the crowd loved it.
It seemed like every one ran into Roger's tent when Tiesto stopped. I did notice a increase in the audience, but i had no idea why.
Everyone was in Tiesto tent, leaving the others not so packed/almost empty. Which in my situation was a good thing.
Overall had a BLAST, it was just a pain trying to find a good after party. |

| This year Maximus sucked!!!! What a mistake of adding Tiesto to the lineup. This attracted mainstream people to the party. Yeah the other tents were almost empty. Last year both tents had the same amount of people. All the Djs that spined last year were amazing. Last year it was more organized. Why they dont do the count down cool. They always do it so quick and dumb. To top it of my pills were ty, so I decided to start drinking. Then finally my friend gets there with some amazing pills, I was all gone lol. |

the countdown was awful...as soon as tiesto got on the ticker hits 0 i think. |
Yeah, and the fact that I had to wait in line for almost 1.5 HOURS for 2 stupid little drinks, followed up by a 30 min bathroom line, GINT SUCKS!!!!!! BIGGEST ripoff I've encountered in ages! Total PITA as by the time I finally had a drink in my hand (I got there at 9:30 BTW), Tiesto was booted off the stage for 30 minutes! We had to go into GE to buy drinks (and after spending $175 per ticket)Luckily, Tiesto was awesome ater his return as he was the saving grace from keeping NYE a total bust IMO. I will not be returning to Giant Village that's for sure :( |

Overall I thought everything was a lot better than last year.
The worst thing was killing the vibe and energy that had been built for Tiesto by shutting the music. When Tiesto was at the Sports Arena, it was more packed and more crazy and pushing etc. And no one stopped that! Thats the suck part of having a fire marshall on the scene, always a problem.
Tiesto had a great vibe and the set he was building was going to be a fantastic one, having it completely stopped and killed for that long a period of time totally killed the whole thing. I sure he was buzz killed and thats why he came on a lot softer after the fact.
So, I think Giant owes us a Tiesto ONLY event soon, with some kind of discount for those who went to Maximus. |

I saw the GA line and said HELL NO and kept walking up and found someone so I could cut inline with. IRONICALLY the person I cut with isn't even in the "scene" he just went because it was "TIESTO". Whatever.. I got to cut!
Tiesto tent was packed but it was good because I think it would of been pretty cold w/o so many people.
Firemarshall shutting Tiesto down for a bit was a buzz kill. Tried to head over to the house tent but that was like a SARDINE can. Got to check out Z-Trip and heard him drop some Beastie and Rage Against the Machine.
The only thing I liked was a bigger ferris wheel and there was no line for it! Whee!!!
I heard the bathroom line was ridiculous. Thank god I can hold in my pee.
The only VIP perk I see was you were able to sit down on some chairs. Sitting on the floor is no bueno.
BTW.. what was used for "climate-control".. I didn't see anything. |

Were you at the same party? Giant Maximus NYE 2007 was awesome, with KSky, Sasha & Digweed, Armin, Ferry Corsten, etc. I kept going back & forth between the tents because I wanted to hear all of the music, but eventually Armin won me over. I walked right into the place, there was no line for VIP at all, and there were well-stocked VIP bars with chillout ares in each tent, never waited more than 5 mins. for a drink.
This year VIP was an endless wait, first to get in, only to arrive at the mosh pit called a bar. I never heard any of the music before Tiesto came on since I was in line waiting for everything, literally for hours. Then the world's #2 DJ gets cut off by the fire marshall for a half hour. Yeah, NYE 2008 was sooo much better!
Tiesto in Concert 2007 was also a nightmare with a 45 minute wait in the VIP line and another mosh pit VIP bar. TIC 2005 was amazing, was inside within 15 minutes and it was the best VIP area setup I have ever seen. Visuals, dancers and stage were nothing short of phenomenal.
I'd say that Giant's lost it. I think it's time to boycott them until they learn how to do it right again! Never been so pissed off that I bought a VIP ticket since I can remember...

I think the mistake was going VIP. There was almost no wait for drinks or water in the non-vip areas.
Anyhow, I am Tiesto biased. The wait to get in was ridiculous, but I never deal with that crap.. I found my way in in less then 10 mins, waited almost 30 mins for my friends who got there the same time.
Rivera threw down a really good set, great momentum going into to Tiesto, too bad it all got killed! |

i dont like the hassle of massives (traffic, parking, lining up for restroom, drinks, etc) but after hearing all these negative comments, it just reaffirms my mindset that I shouldnt go in the future...
id rather wait for a DJ I like in a club or something... |

wow... Sounds like everyone had a ty night.... so sorry to hear this.... what a bummer
I was at another party down the street from GIANT, and we could hear Tiesto's set from the room... it sounded pretty good. I found myself laying down listening to Adiago and my eyes were fluttering in the back of my head.... it sounds like you guys experienced a huge buzz kill though... man that sucks |
