OK get this....

i have this problem with my comp...i have no idea what the hell it is...maybe someone here will know...

it goes like this:

SOMETIMES when i am using my comp and i move the mouse EVERYTHING goes all weird...dam this hard to explain....its as if when i move the mouse a ghost takes over my comp and moves the mouse pointer all over the screen clicking on every program i have on my desktop and opens them...it just goes wild as if u where to take your mouse and move it VERY FAST and double click every icon and minimize and maximize and scroll button possible in the screen....the only way for me to stop it from happening is to reboot...

BUT even after i reboot SOEMTIMES the minute the comp is fully loaded i will move my mouse just an inch and it goes wild again so again i have to reboot until it stops...

I have scanned for viruses with Nortons,McAfee and Fix-It Utilities, I have looked for conflicts with progs but nothing seems wrong, i have unistalled and reinstalled my mouse driver and even bought a new mouse but it still does it once and awhile....i have also formatted my entire drive and redid everything and after about a week of being prefectly fine it did it again today....

its very weird out of nowhere it will do it when i move the mouse...so i get scared everytime i move my mouse around cus it can happen at any minute....

has anyone heard or seen this before and have any idea what in the hell it is...i am running out of ideas to do....

Wireless mouse? You might have some EMI happenin'....
jonsimmonds
have u got a old mouse to plugin to see if ur current mouse is broek or something?

Someone hacked you or U're infected with a virus? :(
Agent_WD40
That's pretty wild. Don't have a clue why that would happen, especially clicking on your icons/scrolling and such. I'd think someone is screwing with you but if you've ran anti-virus it would of found a trojan or something. Mabey for some strange reaon it's a driver problem, or mabey your computer is just possessed

SOunds more like a software problem than a hardware problem so a new mouse won't fix it.

EXACTLEY - it seems like its possessed !!!! no joke

i dont have a wireless mouse...and i have tryed 2 different ones..a brand new one and my old one...both do it.....neither Nortons or McAfee or Fix-It virus scans have found a virus and i formatted the drive yet it still happens...this is weird right?...

i dont know how to solve this...i have tryed EVERYTHING i can think of and it still happens from time to time

but your right its as if my comp is possessed...

and it doesnt only happen when i am online it happens either online or not...soemtimes right when i boot up....i dunno HELP ME:( :(

Thing is if it were a software problem that would have been taken care of with the formatting of his hard drive. That's sooooooooooooo weird...I was thinking maybe you have netbuster on your comp without knowing it or something? I dunno. Goodluck in fixing it...

This suggestion might have you opening up your PC case but it's worth the check...

On the motherboard where your mouse plugs in, check the soldering of the PS2 connection to your motherboard, do you see any solder cracks? or is the soldering coming loose? Could be an intermittant connection to the board...

Considering you formated the drive this rules out any possible software problems so it has to be a hardware issue.

Is there anything new near your computer? Anything with an electric motor or anything the plugs into the wall near the back of the computer?

Was the computer moved?

My thoughts exactly. I had a mouse go broke some years ago, and the behaviour you're describing matches the one I experienced perfectly. Apart from soldering problems, you *could* have a faulty serial-controller chip on your motherboard / PS/2-board. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you'd might like to replace it.

actually i think this all started like a week after i opened my comp case one day to check soemthing...but i didnt touch anything....and yes it was moved what would that do?

the only thing near my comp is the monitor, speakers and keyboard nothing else..nothign behind it at all.....

i am wondering if maybe the comp is OVERHEATING and causing this...could that do it???
Fir3start3r
Overheating....could be....leave the case open for a day or so and see...
Are you near a window?
