Please be sensitive to the multicultural community and rename the thread title to "Holiday" Tree. kthxbai |
No. I respect your personal choice of religion but there's way too much of this bull going on in real life, we don't need it on the internet too. |

Because I don't want people thinking my brother is the type of low class, white trash, idiot who would actually decorate with alcohol containers... it's not like you live in Louisiana. |

What's funny about this is that Fahad is the last person that would actually make such a complaint, he has too much respect for people and their beliefs to be so petty.
Incidently, it's exceedingly rare that any person of any religion other then christianity actually makes complaints about use of the word "Christmas" at Christmas... the move to say "season's greatings" or otherwise remove the word Christmas from the winter solstice holiday period is powered by secularlists and persons of all persuasions who are afraid that they will inadvertantly offend someone despite there being minimal evidence to suggest anyone is offended through this celebration. |

| It's also a bit easier to say "Seasons Greetings" than it is to say Merry Christmas, Happay Chanukah, Joyous Kwanzaa (?), Eid Mubarak, and whatever else I might have missed...Buddhists? What do they celebrate? |

I presume from what i've seen in his posts that he was probably being just a bit silly/antagonistic and not meaning it seriously, but unfortunately there's so much crap going on here from ethnic minorities that it's getting hard to celebrate xmas. I feel sorry knowing my kids wouldn't get the same school fun we had growing up, and we had a couple of non-christians in our class, they joined in & we were all explained why they had their own special times etc. |

If you actually look at the instances where customs have been altered or discontinued you'll quickly find it isn't due to complaints by non-christians, rather it's because of the fear of offending non-christians. Truth is non-christians very rarely complain about Christmas... many that I know actually celebrate it (abeit in a completely secular manner). |
