| don't mean to go off topic. i don't know if anyone saw kite runner yet, but it was a good watch. though it doesn't do the book justice... i feel like thats how it usually is with books turned movies. still i think its worth a viewing. |

I am Legend is 28 Days Later with vampires instead of zombies and a MUCH larger budget. And it's worse.
They should've stuck with the ending to the book. A much cooler ending than the crappy one in this movie. |

I thought it was great - not exceptional but better than most lately. Will smith was amazing however. I have to agree the infected looked ridiculous being all cgi. I am not a fan of cgi in dark movies like this one. Ruins a lot of it.
This doesnt really compare to the previous 2 movies and the book because the story line is different. Only thing really the same is people are infected and he is alone. |

I Am Legend was an entertaining movie but it was not as good as the book nor did it follow the books plot accurately.
The book captures the desolation and loneliness that Richard experiences better than the movie. he was not a scientist but a regular person who happened to be immune to the sickness. He hears people talk and the phone ring when he knows there is no one left in the world. He is losing his mind. He also did not have a dog though he tried to win the friendship of a stray one.
The reason the book is titled I Am Legend is totally different and far cooler. In the book the notion that the vampires are "bad" and that Richard is "good" is questioned when ultimately it is the vampires that are the new society and humans are the folk creatures.
Best movie of the year for me No Country for Old Men |
