I am Legend

saw it this weekend.

I liked it a lot. Will Smith is great as always. The movie is very tense and entertaining. One thing that really irked me about the movie, and some other recent big studio movies, is the CGI....not very good at all. The CGI scenes of the desolate city were great, but anything that actually moved, i.e. the animals and zombies, looked horrendously fake and cartoonish.

I don't understand why all of the zombie people needed to be 100% CGI...they could have saved a load of money by investing in some quality make up and prop people.

I heard it was really stupid. I'll prob wait till it comes out on DVD or HBO.

the story is actually pretty amazing. I havent seen "The Omega Man" which is was based on, but it definitely had me interested all the way through. The last third or so it may have toed the line of being a little stupid, but overall it was a great movie. The CGI was terrible though.

I hope the producers of Beowulf are listening. Not to hijack but that was the worst movie... ever. Beowulf, that is. The story of Beowulf is - monster attacks village. Hero comes to kill monster. Monster is killed by hero.

The end. Somehow that story was parlayed into a 2 hour long fest of CGI. Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should. I'm sure the same went for I am Legend

yeah, agreed. Same goes for the 3 most recent Star Wars movies...I'd much rather see great makeup effects on screen than a cartoon.

well, that's exactly how the original story goes (didnt u ever read it in high school or college??) beowulf is an amazing story, just wasnt meant to be made into a movie...it loses all its beauty that was meant to be in words, not pictures.

Yup - I read it in high school...can't imagine why there have been at least 2 movies made on it. There's just not much there.
