yeah, i just checked out getonce.com.au and only ezy have it listed, and it doesn't have a release yet.

pm me your details and ill send you a copy :) you have to promise to buy it when it sees an australian release if you like it though. i read an interview today which mentioned that the ratings on the scifi channel were ordinary, so im guessing the only reason its still around is through dvd sales.

at least we're getting that final season! its funny how people often criticise BSG or B5 as being inferior because they dont have 10 seasons each, but i think that's one of their strengths. every good story MUST have a final chapter.

oh, and the spin-off series, caprica, is kind've up in the air too :(

yeah, but you have your limitations :p the first season of BSG was better in its ability to create the broader plot than firefly's was, which (pound for pound) makes it a better show :p that said, it was far better than B5s first season.

Hehe, ok sure. But shall we wager a bet on the difference in budgets between BSG and Firefly? Sure, Joss Whedon has a good name for TV series' but BSG is a re-creation of a classic. That equals big bucks.

Not only that, but Firefly was kinda pushing the envelope a bit, genre wise, with what Joss Whedon referred to as a "Space Western." I've never seen a space-themed Sci-Fi attempt that. Oddly, that said, after watching the 1st DVD of Firely, I really didn't like it. I didn't feel close to any of the characters, and the plot was...odd, to say the least. But by the 2nd DVD, I was hooked. I still can't think of any Sci-Fi characters that I like more.

Firefly WAS trying to create a wicked story arc though, though River I suppose, but they had to sort of 'amend' that when they got canned, and make a short story out of it with Serenity. I don't doubt that the longer (series version) would have been epic though ;)

And yes, I agree that season 1 of B5 was a bit lame, because it lacked Sheridan. Sinclair was the 'jovial captain'.... Nobody wants that in a space station :p

EDIT!!! - Bruce Boxleitner was TRON :wtf: :wtf:

X-Files 2 coming out in later '08. Both Duchovny (sp?) and Gillian Anderson make their return... likely because they haven't done since the show ended.

except for duchovny, Californication kicks ass.

Bah, it'd be too obvious to be Starbuck imo. It could be anyone.

this ^^ ladies and gentleman, highlights a distinct difference between nerds with brains, and those that struggle. nothing the X-files has given us is even close to the brilliance of razor. dont get me wrong, i liked the files (for a while at least) but razor is as serious as mainstream fantasy gets.
hahahahahahaha.... Both of them are . I do enjoy watching you trying to make a case for one of the movies though.

your capacity to judge fantasy popular culture is obviously lacking. there's a reason BSG got #1 tv series in time magazine. it has a tremendous and unique quality.

not my fault if you cant see that.
