STALKER was a really good idea for a game. It had some excellent elements to it. But it just fell so short in so many ways. :(
The English translation is also really hard to understand as it is scripted like crap. You never quite know what your last objective was because you don't really know what it said. :stongue:
Dunno if this was a problem for you though. |
I agree, it could've been much better, but I still like it. The second one might be better |

I liked the game a lot due to its incredible overall atmosphere. It almost felt like I was there. On a side note, if you've played COD4 - the sniper level in Chernobyl, you would probably want STALKER to look like that. |

you think? i reckon it lacked a lot of polish, and had some frustrating game mechanics at times, but overall i thought it was still a very ambititious and enjoyable game :) |

good find, ben...
chernobyl is something i think about once and a while.. one of the things that really stood out in my mind about the video is the effects of the radiation on the scientists and workers in the sarcophagus (sp?) i made a pretty picture of their X chromosones..

| I actually lived in Poland when this went down...my parents moved us from Gdynia to my grandmothers place in western Poland to avoid any radioactive clouds. :eyespop: |

Chernobyl happened 4 days afer my b-day. I just got a new bike and was riding around the neighborhood like a madman, it was the awsomest time evar! Even though it started to rain, I didn't care - it was fun!!!!
Not many people knew Chernobyl happened for more than 2 weeks, until Poland and Finland started asking questions and why their radiation levels were through the roof and USSR had to admit a disaster happened.
We lived about 5 miles away from military airbase that was used to haul huge bags of lead that would be dropped on the reactor. I saw about 30 heli drops run over my house every day for several months.
We lived only about 50 miles away from Chernobyl:
