I don't understand how you can't like both. I'm much better at footie starting varsity my sophomore year where I didn't start varsity for gridiron until I was a senior. But I guess a lot of that has to do with needing more size and strength to play gridiron. |
should've been the kicker son :toothless |

Hell no everyone s with the kicker! I'd much rather earn my place playing the line both ways.
And I think our sweeper was the kicker. He had one hell of a boot. Cleared the ball once and a forward jumped up to deflect it with his head. Hit him clear in the nose breaking it, and flipping him backwards in the process. I couldn't compete with that. He had to take goalkicks for me sophomore year as well =( yes I was weak. |

i was safety/3rd string QB/WR3 playing my freshman and sophomore years.
That's only because I wouldn't get picked for varsity for soccer (same season), but I'd try out for soccer first every year. Always wondered if the football and soccer coach had some pact for me to not get picked.
Finally my junior year I said I didn't want to play football if soccer didn't accept me and I started at stopper my last 2 years. never looked back until i got injured - but that can happen in any sport you play.
i've played both, but always had more passion for asso. |

| I started GK for asso. Had a row with the coach and quit to play football where I was put on JV playing DT/OG/C. I never looked back, but I did miss asso sometimes. |

| In the NORF... you either pick Soccer or Football in the fall... no all-year sports crap... and no spring soccer.... so it was football american... so I hate you all who got to play both! |

Haha, we were probably on the same field a few times then. And if I do say so myself, Mayo owned Century on the gridiron. And the soccer pitch. :p |

No here you can't play both. If you read my posts you'd see I said I got into a row with my soccer head coach so I defected to football. |

| Always been a stupid debate. Other than a name, what do they share that can be comparable? |

Same number of players per side, goal line that must be crossed with the ball to score, pitch dimensions, etc.. They share a common ancestor as well. Skullball! |

Number 1. The term football has always been about the game that the english created. It was THE original term for the much OLDER sport.
Number 2. You guys use the term football for a sport that doesnt have any foot contact with the ball other than the field goal or the punt. Its beyond stupidity which pretty much summarizes your culture. |

I love it when the Brits get their knickers in a twist over this issue - they take it so personally. |

screw soccer/asso/football and gridiron/american football
it's all about mob football!
| quote: | | Mob football distinguished itself from other codes by typically having an unlimited number of players and fairly vague rules. By some accounts, any means could be used to move the ball to a goal, as long as it did not lead to manslaughter or murder. |
