Nope. Since September Fur has always been 18+ Friday and Saturday nights and Ibiza is 18+ as well on Saturday nights and their special Thursday events.

Very very fun night! I was there (and I am 18) and yeah I had a lot of fun and Menno was very chill but yeah there weren't as many people as I would hope there would be. I got there at 2AM and at that point Menno was throwing it down pretty well. I went freaking nuts when he played Heaven Scent! He played a good very fun set but it wasn't mind blowing. It was a very good fun trance set though :) By the end though he was much more energetic and jumping around and that upped the energy! I think it would have been a lot more fun if there had been more people. (and I think there would have been a lot more if the competition hadn't been Christopher Lawrence.)
I was up in the DJ booth most of the night. (I was the girl up there in the black halter and jeans.) It was very fun to be up there. It was more crowded than usual. Some people got kicked out of there though because they were swinging the big speakers.
Got an autograph from Menno and to shake his hand after the show so that was awesome.
We were going to go have breakfast with Menno at Denny's but the promoters or club owners insisted that he not go, cause he had a flight in the morning. But he is super chill guy in that he was willing to go hang out with us trance addicts/crazy clubbers at Dennys.
I am very glad I finally got to see Menno De Jong for the first time. I am really glad I went and can't wait to see him again! I hope he comes to the States more often.
Ah and I am so glad they had free glowsticks last night.
I'm not really in a review writing mood as I have to memorize 40 words for a Japanese quiz tomorrow. So I'll write a more extensive one tomorrow.
Oh and btw I saw he was recording the set so it should be available hopefully some time. |

wait, seriously? cuz my friend Koong was trying to organize that get-together (we were hanging out with Koong the whole time), he actually called the promoters/managers, and then asked Menno personally if he wanted to go to Denny's again like they did back in 2006! Of course it was too bad about the early flight BUT understandable, but yeah Menno definitely was agreeable to it and I felt he was soo personable in that he spoke with Koong on the phone himself and even remembered him!! Drew n I were just listening to the conversation on speakerphone, amazed. hehe :)
i didn't go up in the dj booth cuz i was too busy dancing, but yes i saw how easily it was for ppl to go up in the dj booth as well, my bf Drew went up briefly to take pictures of Menno.
Hmm I hope ppl post pics up from the night! I'm sure Drew will put his up when he gets the chance.
Glad you had a kickass time :) Maybe we will have the chance to meet in person the next time we head down to DC again. |

Oh I probably saw you! I was hanging out with DLW and he was chatting with who i think Koong is. (We were hanging outside afterwards. We were a black guy (DLW) & a hispanic girl (me) and we started talking to a group of asian people outside of fur)
So I think we saw each other!
Dunno what happened with the whole Denny's thing, all I know was that Menno was willing to go, and I heard that the promoters or whomever else told Menno he probably should go to the hotel cause he had an early flight. So definitely thanks to your friend Koong for almost getting us to hang out with Menno!
Yeah hopefully I'll see you next time you are down in DC, or next time I am up in NYC :)

ooh you KNOW, i THINK i did see you!!! AT the time though I hadn't really met or talked to DLW till the house party afterwards. lol oh damns. hahaah! it was interesting cuz after i wrote my post, I thought about it and i **WONDERED** if that had been you next to DLW. rofl!!! YES i was the only girl there so yups you definitely DID see me... :haha: and my bf Drew1127, he was the one wearing the grey fleece and black-rimmed glasses, not sure if u recall him being next to me. lol.
yes that was th3 suck cuz Menno DID want to go but that whole thing was stopped cold bleh. Was disappointed but what can we do, right. meh. yeah Koong is really great and thoughtful. :)
yes definitely look us up when you are back in NYC next time :D We don't hit up events too regularly now, BUT we would consider if it ppl are in town. |

It wasn't the club or promoters ;) We don't mind what after parties Menno goes to with the fans, he is a free man ;)

In my opinion you missed one of the best parties I have been to in a long time.:eyes: 10/10 !!! Definitely in the top 5 thus far!! Yes, we're part of the party but the vibe was just amazing! The atmosphere was perfect, you could feel the energy from of everyone in the room. I didn't tracklist his songs but I really enjoyed the variety of tracks he played. I think it was a combination of the crowd energy and his set that made the night exceptional and one not to forget !! Everyone was cool!! No fights, No problems. Considering we were up against Chrisopher Lawrence accross the street I was very happy with the turn out. To some of you that came at 2am (get there earlier!!! You missed half his set haha) Normally we do not like to pair up trance party to trance party but this was the only date that we could get Menno. I hope the DC people were able to appreciate the party!! Menno is real friendly and cool guy. Afterwards he took some time to sign some flyers, and take some pics.
Hope to see the DC area people at Andrew Parsons / Tim Grube show this Saturday for more of a progressive night and then the week after, full on trance with ATB - Feb 23rd!!!!!

oh of course not. Menno had told Koong while on stage during the party then on the phone personally that he wanted to hang out afterwards and told us to talk to JavD about getting directions to go to the breakfast spot. it was JavD he was too busy/tired. lol. really too bad, i wouldn't have minded meeting JavD too. great job in getting him to DC folks :)

well its totally 'different type of events' so right, Wai did niot miss out by far, just seeing him in a month. His party at DC was good for what it was, especially within the environment of the revitalized DC scnce. and yes agreed very lucky to have gotten him. kudos!~ thank god hes making a stop in NYC too this year as well.
the Montreal show is sure to be kickass!!! esp since it *is* Bal en Blanc. the vibe is going to be incredible as they are at massives like that!! Can't even compare the two, period, and most djs spin so much better/differently at events outside of the United States!! man i wish i was going lolz...ah wells. |
