I don't really see what's so complicated here. Contemporary human people deny violence/devalue the use of it in certain circumstances, because it's the best for the current society. Humans have learned that people are far happier and more productive if they don't have to constantly fear violence from other humans - hence this sort of "pact" of non-aggression. Violence against animals and people outside our perceived society are therefore accepted better, specially if they threaten our society.

Halcyon, you're obviously a really intelligent individual. Staying on topic, have you ever seen this series(6 parts) on the so called "prophet" muhammad and his rise to power through violence. There are over 1 billion Islamic followers who to this day still believe in this person as a messenger of god. It was well documented and according to the translations of the Quran.
1.The scriptures says to fight and kill the pagans and disbelievers of allah unless they convert.
2. Muhamammad had a nine year old wife and also had sexual relations with her.
3.The so called holy book makes it alright to chop off the hands and feet of the enemies, and the whole Jihad concept is ing insane. These s actually think there's going to be a heaven for them with 72 virgins , and what do they say when they greet "peace be upon you" while the Quran contradicts itself in so many ways.

You are right though - God is a powerful force of destruction, in its own history. The will to create as well as destroy. Did he infuse his little Earthen creatures with this same will? Are we exclusive to thinking that we have some understanding of its process or are we as much in the dark as the dark side of His moon? Maybe one day He'll come out of hiding and let us know. Until then, we are just lonely creatures, eking out an existence furnished with small bits of light at some dark part of His universe; prone to violence, prone to the illusion that denying the rites of Nature serve His will. |
