Um, no...it has nothing to do with me.

I've just witnessed it plenty of times with talented women. My girlfriend's step-sister went to Wharton and works for one of the major investment banks in NYC (and does well). She's planning to quit soon after getting married. I just don't understand the point of working so hard if all that you're trying to do is get married and quit.

Oh, and I didn't say college, I said MBA, which is business school. Same comment applies to law and med school, though.

oh) i see)

i go for mba too now)

well maybe that's because it's usually as i said before, w have to choose either career or family and kids. and it is not fair at all

without sounding like a hippy, perhaps the journey and experience in their chosen discipline was more important than their vocation?

I guess and that's the only rationale I can think of for it. But still, it's an awfully expensive trip. Imagine the travel you could do with the cost of a few years tuition and I'm sure you'd learn a lot more than in school.

To each their own, I just think that it's too commonly a waste of talent. And it's especially sad in situations where they go from being bright women to moronic Upper East side twits.

true, but its their life and freedom of choice is more important imo than making the "right" decisions.

not just "my" work. i just hate working. getting out of bed in the morning. having a boss. having to do things people tell me to do. having to answer to people. having to wear a smile on my face when talking to absolute cretins.

i wanna win lotto and retire.

Gosh, women are so spoilt. Give them a choice whether to have a career or a family, and they complain that they have to choose!

I don't know if y'all are old enough, but what really killed the whole "ERA thing" in the 1970's was that if the amendment passed, it would mean the removal of designated male and female restrooms and locker rooms, and only having unisex facilities.

...which I wouldn't mind, at all.
