Apart from artistic integrity and your obvious dislike towards David Lynch, you can't seriously be claiming that watching a movie (insert your favorite movie here) on an iphone comes close to watching it on the big screen, or on a good system at home. That's like listening to music (insert your favorite track here) on some crappy laptop speakers instead of a decent sound system. So much is lost.
And a track lasts less than 10 mins, a film over 2 hours. Like Lynch says, you're cheated.

some people should be ignored. nobody should watch anything other than hollywood crap on a 2 inch screen.

You could't have missed my point more completely.

Go ahead and reread my last post, noodle it for a bit, then get back to me. ;)

I have a feeling it's rather you who missed the point here.
I just presented a more general viewpoint: No matter if you watch an artistic film or some crap like Transformers just for entertainment during a flight, much will be lost on a tiny screen.

Nobody says you can't be entertained by 5 pixel tall people talking through ty speakers for 2 hours. You can. It just sucks.

No matter how a film ist, it can be made worse by bad sound and a small picture. And by the smelly dude that keeps talking in the seat behind you on the train.

By the way, nobody has said anything about the point he's trying to make.

I completely agree with him. You can't properly experience a film without some decent sound and picture quality. I even think watching movies on your notebook sucks.

I disagree. I watched "Grave of the Fireflies" on my girlfriend's notebook, and I don't think I was less moved than I would've been if I had watched it anywhere else.

Also, Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Both ing fantastic movies, but they're essentially just filmed conversation, not unlike Coffee and Cigarettes.

Yea, the whole point is you being entertained ;)

Personally I'd rather read a book.

It might not affect your emotions as much as appealing to other senses if you were to watch a movie on a big screen with surround sound. Not to get too techy but it also makes a difference whether you're watching in true 5.1 or not.

iPhones, cell phones and Media players are the worst in my opinion. How the hell can anybody watch something on a 4 inch screen? Now that is wrong.
