Wow, actually got another semi-well known (at one time much more well known) DJ to play in place of BT? Why is Dave in SF to begin with.

CANCELLED!?

I am trying to 100% confirm this but I heard that on my way home from work (ie, in the last hour or so?) BT cancelled his gig for tonight.

BT's MySpace also says "Ruby Skye -- Cancelled" for tonight.

Again, I am trying to 100% confirm but just giving a heads up.

If it did, the cancellation just occured. I imagine it has something to do with BT's daughter in the end, but again....I'm not sure.

This all happened on my way home and am trying to find out what's official and what can be said!!

the signs posted on the front of the club informed everyone that bt was cancelled and postponed till april. even in spite of that there was a persistantly long line around the block up till midnight and even people paying to get in at 2:30. the music was dope... james williams opened with some killer trance, the david ralph guy switched it up to deadmau5esque progressive, then alain showed up and brought the house down with some sick prog beats. whatever track he dropped at 2:22am was nasssty! oh and the visual/lighting/thematics were sick. they brought back the prototype laser along with the hanging nets from ferry night back in the day and projected visuals into it.

+1 The lighting at Skye was out of this world! :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

James dropped some dope trance to open, and then Dave followed up with an eclectic mix of old school trance and other bangers.

Have some unbelievable video of Dave droppin BT - Force of Gravity and Greece 2000, the files are too large to post on Youtube, anyone care to host them? :happy2:

download windows media encoder. it can convert and compress your massive avis to like 1/20th the size and still maintain some decent quality

When they have the lighting kicked into gear at Ruby, it's by far the best lighting in NorCal...and th eonly system in Cali that my rival is Avalon Hollywood, which still might be better.

Although I think the lighting at Blank & Jones last Feb might be the best club lighting I've ever experienced....but you had to see it from the stage point of view because it's how they were doing all the wall lighting. The lighting guy was on cue with every damn beat the whole night going INSANE. It was trippy. Ruby was just a whole mess of colors.

You really only see how good it can be when it's really utilized. It doesn't have nearly as many lights as Ten15 but what they can do with what they have is special.

Had to resize the files so the quality went down a bit on YouTube but the originals are crystal clear.

BT - Force of Gravity

Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Edit: Lol, thanks Ronski! :stongue:

So glad it turned out to be a good night for everyone.

Lazers were the thing missing when RS brought out trance headliners. Is this a permanent change?
DaveT
I've personally only seen it once at Ruby for. For Ferry in 2005. It was amazing. I so wish we saw them more often for the trance headliners. :)
