Why do you guys call it going 'red' or 'purple' if they both use blue laser diodes?
Wait, Blue Planet is a 7 part documentary, how did it only come to $19.95? I would cost them more than that just to print the damn things.
|
blue planet is one disc. planet earth is four discs (blu-ray).
i dont know what people call it "going purple" but thats the term that everyone uses. the diode is a cross between purple/blue. if they call it "going blue" then it leans too much towards BD and the HDDVD people might not like that. i dunno.. its just a guess. |

I thought going Purple was if you went both ways :P
Blu-Ray & HD DVD (Blue + Red = Purple)
HD DVD = Red because they only use Red movie Cases
Blu-Ray = Blue......for many reasons :D |

going purple means going HD (either blu or hddvd)
blue + red = purple (roughly). |

ah..no. Its the executives, the guild is on strike against. The distro companies get paid by the advertising that supports the online streaming video, but the writers to do not. |

PPS. If you want cheap movies, buy it from Amazon.com (not .ca). You pay for it US $$, You don't have to pay Tax, there are no brokerage/custom fees as its shipped from within the Canada (Mississauga) and they are about 20%-30% cheaper than buying them in Canada.
They also have lots of BOGO sales (buy one get one free). I believe that BD and HD DVD have BOGO sales on right now. |

I believe that you Amazon.com only ships Movies, Music & Books and nothing else for some legality reasoning...
I know for a fact that they ship Movies & Music...but I believe books are also part of it.
If you search the on amazon .com website under shipping or something it'll say what they are allowed to ship, and i think they explain why they can't ship electronics or anything else. |
